C.trilineatus: Breeding Like Rabbits...

yeah, once they get are bigger, I will add a sand substrate.
I may give it ago with the other batch of eggs, and see what happens.
Its all stuff I can write about in my article.

Well, my Other batch of fry hatched over night.

and they are tiny compared to the big batch, I can now see how much they look like cories, unlike the new fry.

I'm not sure if I'm gonna try the filter gunk or sand on the fry tank, I may go for the filter gunk, and see what happens.

Well its day 11....

and here are some update pics:

Over view of ALL the fry in their tank: Hrm... only 114 in this shot, but cant see those in the front pane, or front corners

Awe! What will you do with 200 babies? You may help mentor me, when I breed the long fin albino peppers.

hehe, I'll give it a go :D

I'm going top sell them I have a few people interested, and one of the not so LFS said they will buy some, I may sell some to people on here, but it will be pickup only.

I'm currently writing a document about breeding and raising corys, I've almost finished, but I want to test out a few other ethods, which I'll add to an updated release, at a later date.
I'm currently writing about the eggs and how to remove them and setup egg tanks etc. I've written about the fry and alsorts, as you can tell I dont work in a lateral line, as I dont think that way either :D

 They are too cute. Great pics, as always. Where are the newborns? Are they in there too?? They all seem to be the same size, so I guess not.

:D

They new ones havent had their pics taken yet, as they wouldnt smiler for me.
I spent all last night checking out my dads tanks, to see if I could salvage one, and one seems to be ok, apart from a small crack, but a heap of silicone will sort that out.

I will get some pics of the fry on thursday or friday, as I'm in work late tonight and they hopefully all the eggs that arew going to hatch will have hatched by then. So I can then get rid of the meth' Blue water and add some clear water.

As for the big spawn, they are huge now compared to the new fry, :), hopefully they will start to fatten out a bit now, and start to take on the cory shapes.

I'm looking forward to pics of the new fry.

Well, my Trilis are at it as we speak. But only 2 males and one female. I'm not sure where the other female is. Anyway. I found 3 eggs, thought I'd remove them before the Striata got them. I'm not holding out any hope, since my last spawn failed. But I have been feeding them decent food, so hopefully these will be stronger fry.

How many eggs per 'T'ing are your females laying?? Mine only carry one egg per 'T'.

I the large spawn is was between 1 and 4, different every time.
in the last one it was move like 1's and 2's

Well, I doubt I'll be getting many more eggs. They've found a plant they really like at the back, in the middle of a 4 foot tank. Of course, Alex has 4 huge lights on top as well, so it's just too much schlep to get them out. Besides, by the time I pull it all apart, they'll have been eaten by the Striata.

So mine only carrying one isn't too bad. Your poor females then, if you ended up with 160 eggs.

:fun:

was 200+ eggs :D

plus 70+ the spawn after that,

but their first spawn only gave me like 20 eggs, and they died :(

Ok here a new pic of the big batch:

and here is a couple of pics of the new batch, only 16eggs survived I did find a few dead fry, which leads me to think it may have been the smaller female who spawned, as I didnt see them do it this time.

any how here's the pics:

As I think it was a spawn from the youngest female, and this means that she lays less eggs, doesnt have as much room as the fully grown females.
A lot of the eggs werent fertile either, so looks like she's got some learning to do. But 16 fry is about the norm for C.Trilineatus, I just have unusaully big spawns from them.
