Breeding Bettas

well, different people like different tial types in bettas. There are so many to choose from, but many people like the short finned plakats becuase they seem more natural and fit/strong.

IMO they are very cool looking, but i like crowntails and others too :)

so,what is charlie? :D

Yup Charlie is probably a plakat he looks exactly like that except for the coloration.. There were two of them in the lfs and I chose him he was better lookin' There were like 15 long finned ones all but one looked pretty deteriorated. Poor little guys in those small cups.. it gave me such joy to release Charlie from his cup into the tank. :D

well how do you tell the diffecne bweteen a male plakat and a female betta? that's what usually confuses me the most. well the females would have an oviposter but other than that ...:D

glad to hear that he's a possible plakat, but you dont' see them in lfs very often -_- at least i never ever do  i know charlie is a charlie and not a charlotte!

Well the females generally are much less colourful aren't they? Usually brownish. I saw two of them in the lfs and for some reason they were in bigger containers than the males... (small bowls instead of the little cups) Do they need more room or something? What is a Charlotte?

what price would you expect an average plakat to fetch in an lfs, just so I know? Charlie was $3.99.

Aww this thread is dead. Oh well it was good while it lasted. Damn long too.

Where exactly is this fishless cycling thing again? I'm just curious.

I would suggest researching a butt load before you actually start breeding.

yes we've been through that

I've decided to wait before I get into that. All I want for now is a nice peaceful community tank how does some gouramis sound with the betta?

Also, wait at least a couple of hours for a post, not 1-2 minutes.
