This afternoon my blue acara laid a few hunderd eggs on a rock. There's only them 2 in there along with a small 2" plec. Now from what i've been told the clearish eggs are fertilised, and the white eggs are unfertile. Around 15% are white. I also know thet she'll move the eggs to another location, but it's only a small tank 30l. They were moved in there temporarily as i'd just had oscars and was going to rehome them in a new 3ft. My understanding is that they will hatch in around 5-7 days, but where do i stand on the water change. I do a change every week, but is it ok to still do this, or will i have to leave it alone? And will i have to house the newbies in a nursery net i've got or will they look after them? What is the best food to give them? First time i've had breeding fish, so it's all new to me!

Many thanks

Jules

hi there, for starters u real need to get them out of that 30litre, as that is far too small as u know

white eggs are infertile and will fungus
clearish eggs are the fertile ones

the eggs will hatch in 2-3days usually not 5-7days

u still do ur water changes as normal as with fry its even more important to do so

levae fry with parents as they are good parents usually

feed bbs for first food
