I am thinking of putting my betta in my goldfish tank?
Is this a good idea?
Will the betta kill the goldfish?
Because if the betta is going to kill the goldfish then im not going to do so.
i love my fish to much!

yeah, i'd have to say no. bettas would harm, and even kill your goldfish.
Although most of us dont heat our betta tanks, the fish are from two different climates, so it'd be hard on them, even if you could get them to coexsit peacefully.

ok i'll be sure to never mix the two.
also do u need a heater for bettas?
If so what temp does it have to be between?

Bettas fair best at temps between 74 and 80. They absolutely do need a heater. Goldfish, on the other hand, do not need one, being coldwater fish.
If you were to mix the two, either the betta would harm and hasstle them, or the goldfish would hasstle and kill the betta when they got big enough. The water params, size difference, and difference in preferences (ie. bettas like still water or slow current, goldies need a VERY strong filter) alone would make them incompatible, even if they did cohabitate peacefully.
Glad you won't be putting them together.

other way around buddy. i already tried it a few years ago, i left the betta with 3 goldfish overnight, when i came back the next morning, the bettas fins were shredded. i guess the fins look like worms to goldfish.
