It looks like i will have 12 baby plants from my Echinodorus. :hyper:

Your tank has developed significantly since the start, and is now pretty stunning :good:.

That Echinodorus mother plant at the back right is from pets@home is it not? I bought the same one, all the old leaves died off and the new ones are a beautiful red colour, yours will probably do the same too, since I think that's emergent foliage on it now :).

Wow, what a beautiful tank!I agree with you about the "scenery" backdrops though, they are positively wretched.

Thanks :good:

Thanks Three-Fingers, the Echinodorus is from Tropica. You are correct about the leaves. They are dying off and reddish new leaves are appearing. What do you think of the baby plants? Cool eh? :good:

:drool:Your tank has come a long way! It looks amazing! Keep up the good work! :good:DL

Thanks DiscusLova! :good:

Oh my gosh! That is an awesome tank!! It makes my tank look like a piece of crap  Keep up the good work!GobyMaster

Cheers GobyMaster. :good:

Hi back to tropical, I haven't been on here in a while, Your tanks looks a million times better than when you first started, nice work, its good seeing stuff like that develop. I totally love the natural look, glad you got new lights and stuff, just goes to show how they help with your plants. Hows your PH is it still hi? If it is it doesn't seem to be causing any problems.

Gorgeous Tank you have there! Absaloutly in love with it!!

Everyone don't half look happy in that tank xx

Thanks for all your kind comments.

Chishnfips, PH is sitting at 7.5 so i'm happy to leave it there. Good to see you back in the forum. :good: Where have you been?

Bad news though, only 1 baby molly left. 1 died in the breeding trap of unknown causes  and the other was nearly as big as the tetras, so i let him into the main tank. He was fine for 2 days, then i found him stuck in the powerhead today, must have been just too small. I'll know better next time.

make sure u stir the sand every water change to make sure them trapped gasses escape!!

from my understanding from some experienced peeps (but cant remember who i am afraid) the whole "trapped gasses" issue is not all its cracked up to be? I mean not dangerous, i think in "theory" it can be dangerous, but this topic seems to have come up a few times and no one has yet had a problem?

I mean its worth stirring the sand to be on the safe side, but every week?

Anyone else got a view on this? I know its technically possible to get dodgy "gas" pockets in sand, i just dont believe it actually happens, or it VERY rare?

Very interesting point. It's something that most people are aware of, but i've never actually heard of it happening to anyone. It's a topic for the scientific section i think........................

Edit: I posted this in the scientific section. See here.
