Backtotropical's Main Tank

8.0! That it high! I doubt those neons will like it that high! The Ph inside the tank is most likely going to be at least 8.5, and although adaptable, neons will prefer a lower Ph (7.5-6.0ish)! I recommend taking that rock out asap. Besides, it doesn't suite the tanks atmosphere anyways

Neons will live in high ph its just they won't breed in it.
Ive had mone for nearly a year in a ph of 8.5 and are still ok.

Because they are tank bred, they can with stand a variety of diffrent water chemistrys. Just because they can live, doesn't mean they will thrive...

Just seen your latest pics on page 5, looking really good :good: and great shots of the mum/baby Mollies too

Quick update. I upgraded my lights because my plants weren't doing too well. I'm now running 2 x Arcadia Plant Pro T5s. soon to be joined by 2 x Arcadia Freshwater T5s. My plants love it!!!

I got a big Amazon sword, its fab, let me know what you think. I also took out the cabomba, its so messy!

I got Tropica Plant Feed, has anyone used it? Water stats are still the same. :good:

The tank looks a bit orange / pink with the new bulbs but the freshwater ones should brighten it up again.

Baby mollies are doing well.

Heres more pics. Notice the new amazon sword is flowering? :hyper:

What are you going to do with your extra mollies?

I will rear them in my breeding trap until they are big enough to not get eaten and then release them into the tank. Might run out of space quite soon though, knowing mollies.

You'll all be pleased to know the fungus is gone and mummy molly back to full health. :good:

Fry are getting big too!

Thanks for all your kind comments.

One of the mollies died. It's not mummy molly, bit it was getting bullied by the other female mollies.

I have bought some new plants, Aponogeton Crispus, Limnophila Sessiliflora, Crinum Natans, and another which i forget the name of.

I also got 2 bulldog plecos.

Everyone else is doing fine. Molly babies are getting big.
