Two can play this game, sunshine!

:p

Is it really worth groaning every time a topic comes up which has been mentioned before? Why not just take it with a grain of salt, accept said person may not have seen topic, and reply/ignore as you please?

Just makes bad atmosphere if you ask me.

I say ignore it and try to understand that some people don't spend as much time here as other's.

But let's not forget that good ol' search button, either :p

who cares how often a subject is posted? how petty to complain...
if you don't want to read the same subject again, try this
don't open the thread....quite simple. ;)

and do try to recall being a newb yourself...

Good point .

Hey all! Being a newbie myself (just found you guys in April) i'm sure that i've asked a million questions that have all been asked a million times before.... sorry if i've offended :*) ... thing is that you might just get a new perspective from someone who didn't answer it the first time around. Also gives us newbies a chance to show-off our new found fish-smarts when we can respond too!!

See ya'll around!

Not reading pinned topics and using the oh-so valuable search function are two things that cause this problem to be so bad.

i think one thing several seem to be forgetting is that many many posts are made while the poster is in a panic about their fish.
they aren't thinking about saved topics,or search...they are simply freaking out over something that seems to be going terribly wrong...

keep in mind as well that the ones freaking out are most likely new to the entire world of fish...

try to remember when you first got fish...or your first major problem...

i can guarantee that none of you stopped to search or read saved topics...

you simply posted pleading for someone to help save your pet....

I know we get a lot of repeat questions about diseases and such and thats fine and acceptable even expected. But cycling questions and such which are usually asked before there is even any livestock involved would be easily answered by reading the pinned articles first then posting the question if it's still not answered rather than posting then us replying with tread the pinned thread.

I know the first nigth I was a member I read all the pinned threads even though I'd kept fish for years prior.
Not sure if you can do it with IPS but on my board we use colors and bold fonts to draw more attention to the "sticky" topics.

You'll see how they catch your eye.

Yes,I agree. I think this is more about "sand vs gravel" or "natural vs fake" type discussions.

I cant see the harm in it..
Every body dislike a LFS somewhere.. now , imagine you walk into a shop and you dont know ANYTHING about fish, cycling, plant, what ever and you ask the guy a very basic question. He turn around and point to a book, and say "I'm sorry but I answered that question before....uhm I think last week, have a look in the index"

I think the success of a forum is the members and not the info, the unlimited good, helpfull answer...
If you dont like repeated question, I'm sure someone could post a url to a FAQ.. but you wount be able to post your own, repeated questions...

I'm sure the topic is covered, if not here on somewhere else so..

Gotta agree, OK so I'm new here but on other forums I have found that old questions can lead to new answers :D
