Just a thought.......if topics weren't repeated sometimes then wouldn't the forum soon have nothing to say or reply to???? with the exception of chit chat and general talk perhaps!!!!

i agree with Fiddlesticks and chali, would have said it myself if chali hadn't beaten me to it.

The search would pick up "substrate". You need to ask it to specifically to search only titles for it to not search the entire posts.

Just for future reference. :)
i know.

what i meant was...if i personally was searching for a topic about substrate I would use the keyword "substrate" and confine the search to titles on the grounds that the overall subject would be mentioned in the title. if you searched every single post for "substrate" you could find topics within which only one post was about substrate.i hope that made sense. it did in my head!

Not necessarily. There are endless questions going on about fish or fish related subjects and it's only the same handful of topics; ie the sand vs gravel arguement, cycling questions, feeding, etc that are asked and answered almost on a daily basis that should be pinned and read or searched for first.

Then again I've been online longer than keeping fish and I'm more experienced and knowledgable of how a message board works so I guess I'm an exemption to the typical newbie to the net and fish rule.
