Yes.  Several times a day.  And it even gets on my own nerves

Too much movement and/or hiding places

makes them hard to count.

It is not possible in my tanks for anybody to have an accurate count. How do you count the number of fish in a school of tetras which may have 40 fish give or take 5 and which never holds still?
 
How do you count a tankfull of plecos that have sufficient cover to spawn successfully.
 
My best guess is that today I have about 300 fish and it is probably more. I have no clue any more

I dont bother. Have far too many to count in a too heavly planted aquarium lol used to tho

I do this. Every time I feed them, count the Cory's in particular as I have 12. I just make sure everything is there and healthy, including the shrimp which... Takes a while!

I must say I draw the line at trying to count shrimp!

I even count my shrimp. And I do it when I am not at home in my head. Though I only have 11 shrimp right now so if they get to be too numerous I really hopw I stop.
