God aqua scaping is such a pain lol

Had my tank set up a month or so now and quite liked what I had done with it but I picked up a Bolivian Ram today and read they like caves an hidey holes so now im thinking off doing a re-do!

Also while I was away for a week my elodea sprouts have shot up, my 5 Amazon swords have over taken and these strange plants that look like camboa but it spreads out like a tree rather than up like actual camboa have spread right out

Wondering how on earth im going to redo it with all these fish and somewhere in there are 3 cherry shrimp!

Hot topic

Well re-did it this morning as I was woken stupidly early so thought id get on with it.

Bit sad as the whole time I was wondering where my 5th Diamond tetra had got too, thinking I might have syphoned him out without realizing, but when I came to fill the tank back up I found him bent up in the filter intake :( silly sod had jumped into the filter and got trapped just above water level and died I assume over night.

Broke up a large bit of slate I had in there and made some caves, pruned my amazons right back and tried to scape it bit.

Will get some pics up this afternoon and see what you folks think of it :good:

Oh and ****** knows where my 3 cherry shrimp are! they where hard enough to spot in a plastic bag let alone loose in the tank. Hopefully I haven't hovered them up and they will re-emerge in a day or so!

sorry to say it but maybe the rams have eaten the shrimp. They do like a live snack now and then.

Have you got a piccy of your new setup?

My GBR will have a go at my smaller cherries if he finds one out in the open.

It did cross my mind if perhaps he was horribly hungry but I have a strange feeling while water changing they've gone up the pipe :(
They have very little colouration and were tiny so it wouldn't surprise me. Maybe they will show up in a few days but I might pick up some amo shrimp on monday.

edited for above: Yeah they where tiny maybe all 3 could fit on a 2 pence piece.
Ill take some pics now.

Evos colours are starting to return so hopefully in a month or so when hes settled he will be nice an bright.
Might also pick up maybe 4 more Tetras to make it 8.
Would love some Red honey gouriamis (Nearly got 2 instead of Evo) but I think my tank is maxed out for a 65 litre to be honest :/

Oh and the pics dont really show off the sloping but this is my first proper tropical tank so be gentle :p

Any suggestions on plants would be a plus. I like the leaves on the amazons but thats all I can find that looks that sort of lush green!

wow looking good, where did you get the rock from?
Thanks :D

Same shop I got my fish from, its just slate cost me about hmm £2.65 alltogether. The bit angled and the one the coco is on was one large bit that a whacked with a massive spanner :D

Bogwood was about £8 with the christmas moss, Think I paid abut £5 for al the amazon types and the rest came frm a DP fishways selection pack

Hi Johnlenham :)

Your tank is beautiful! The corys will enjoy the sand and the extra room to move around. :D

Awesome! they have been no stop since the change lol What was quite intresting to see was the albino last night "Hoovering" the new arrivals!

He went to every tetra sniffing them and running his barbels over them he then went onto the ram and hovered around his tail!
Also noticed aswell that since joining the tank the corys barbels have gotten really long which I can only assume is a good sign!

Oh and another thing, Evo is a male right? -_-

I think that tank looks fantastic...you have a good eye!

Thanks :D
Might go get me some shrimp today and a few more tetras as I think there abit shy in the 4 group. Also noticed they look the the French flag from tail to head
Thats a point would Normal tetras shoal with diamonds? they are smaller but I believe (may be wrong) there the same fish but breed for diffrent colouration?
