Any Closer To A Decision

Hi Guys,

we were discussing general chat (again) a couple of weeks ago, black angel said she'd raise the subject for review in the mods forum, the thread about it descended into sillyness so it got closed, not had an update from the mods if any decision has been made or not. Can you let us know please?

will hasnt been on since it was brought up in the mod section so still need to wait for him. theres a couple other mods willing to help, but theres still those that oppose it.

wait and see is all i can say at this point.

I think a general chat section would be great, i would post in it sometimes although no doubt i would end up talking fish anyway lol

Something that this forum lacks badly imo! The general hobby forums go some way but theres nowhere to just 'talk' about something general.

We have the live chat-i've been in it-its rare to see many members in there. If they dont use that then why bother.

a lot of people like me can't use live chat from work where they post a lot of the time. personally i also prefer the format of a discussion with various threads rather than a chat room...... if i wanted a chat room there's plenty of them, i like forums.

The difficulty i see arises when a question is asked by a member and his thread quickly goes off the page because of a discussion thread/chat constantly being at the top of the page.Otherwise i havent a problem as such.

well it'd be a seperate area of the forum on the 'view new posts' bit then they may get bumped down if there's a lot of traffic, but not in any of the fish related areas so they wouldn't drop of the page if someone posts in the emergencies forum or something like that.

There's been a lot of general chat going on in Tropical Discussion. If making a seperate forum would get it out of there, then I'm fine with it.
