What's the orange thing with eyes, and the black stuff?
The "eyes" are just a trick of the light, its a soft coral.
The black stuff is a very thin filament algae, which I used to transport a load of amphipods back to the uk in.
 
Are the Amphipods big or small?

Is the soft coral from deep water? I assume it's a plankton feeder rather than a photosynthesiser?

These ones were quite small, Though I did have some larger ones (Glyptonotus antarcticus), I will put them in another post later on..

Not very deep, everything we collected was from above 25m, I would imagine plankton feeder, but not 100% i'm afraid.
 
That soft coral is super pretty! What are you doing with the amphipods?

They were being used for a climate change study I believe as well as being used to find the chemicals which glow at low temperatures
