I'm going for quite a few upsets this week, especially by picking Jets to beat Giants, Bears to beat Packers, Bills to beat Cowboys

Okay so the early games have started and x2 peeps havent posted bets, unless i have missed something, first time that happened and probably not the last, so what do we do, i present two options (but its up to Bozza ultimately)

1. You miss it, you miss it, you dont get any points for a game if you dont place your bet before it kicks off, it would still mean peeps can get bet in before the late games

OR and this is my suggestion (to try and stop peeps missing one week and then getting discouraged and quitting)

2. You get ONE LET OFF during the whole season, and if you mess up just once, you still get some points for the games you miss, maybe we just award a flat rate of 50% success. So if you miss bets on 8 games, you end up with x4 "wins" and get 20 pts? (wouldnt apply for last week of season in case anyone decided to "settle" for 50% and not bet LOL alternatively we could be tigher and award a 25% sucess for missed bets?

I am quite good with stats, so this took me less than 5 mins to work out,

But between Weeks 1 and 4, if you combine all our bets, the success rate of our bets on each game is 54%

I had always thought if you forgot to do your weekly bets. If the away team wins thats the point you get. But i dont think anybody understood what I meant by that. Up to you fry_lover, as to what you want to do in regards to what happens to the people who have not placed their bets.

There is one game left for this week. Ill choose Dallas Cowboys.

Thats what Ive done with other betting comps like this. You know the games and who is playing. If someone misses their bets, they get points for if the away team wins. Your the points guys fry_lover, would u be kool doing that? Or if u miss u miss?

I like the idea of points for the away wins, because the away teams dont win as much of the home teams, so peeps wont actually be benefiting by missing their bets.

The only problem is what if people constantly forget their bets, like every week, then we would have people climbing up the table ptotentially and they are aren't even playing.

What about setting a limit on the amount of times you can miss bets and still get some points?

But i do agree about some points allocation, as if you miss your bets just one week, i think its a shame you end up with no points at all and peeps may drop out.
