IMHO, you went off topic and caused a distraction to the person who started the thread. It seems that was the problem.

When a person asks a question, they are looking for certain things. To address anything else could reasonably bring an unwanted comment from him. While there is never any excuse for rudeness, if you think about it, perhaps you will understand how you just said the wrong thing at the wrong time.

Don't get your feelings hurt though, most people would probably have acted differently under the circumstances.

Now, I'd like to ask why all of you were posting responses to a problem without anyone asking julia the simple question, "What are you talking about?"

My opinion to this whole thing with people posting random "why do you not like me" "why is this happening to me" threads is just dumb. I've realized by now that no one has anything positive to say to anyone who starts threads like these. And who really cares what they think anyway? If you feel like you are helping and giving good advice that's all that matters... but no rudeness....

Inchworm, I have asked Julia the problem topic in a PM. I was responding to the other responses that i have read, as they seemed unsuitable regardless of the problem.

Here I go again.....

....Julia, I think the topic you were talkin in, regarding Eels, Oscars etc was a no win from the start. The topic starter IMHO was on a very different agenda from the one he/she was receiving answers for.

First I'd asked what kind of goldfish, mutant creature or more natural? Then I would tell you what kind of fish godlfish actually is and, as you know, it's a shoal fish too ant it is kept in large tank only with it's own species.

Second I ask you to test your water and tell you, that goldfish need good care and pure water.

Third I would say, that if you cannot afford larger tank, I'd advice you to give it away.

Mr.V it may be a good idea for you to branch out into emotocons and mabey add a note to your signature that tells us all about you lack of small talk. We should all cool our jets a bit we are starting to talk about ostraciceing people who have not spammed flamed or trolled.

I'm not an expert, but I doubt any creature could live in PURE water. It would lack everything except wetness wouldn't it?

But it wouldn't conduct electricity, good for faulty filters etc..
