I always knew you were dodgy; it is your fascination for cats that gives it away, your ancestors were cat burglars. No wonder they were sent to Australia.
I remember when i found this out a long time ago last year when i made a thread about continuing a story….

Yeah and they breed like crazy. Want some??
yeah, where'd you get yours?
i think theres some at petsmart but they are only there sometimes like the snails

Ah, I forgot cincelichthys pearsei & bocourti!
I dont see many fish keepers with Bocourti. They seem rare compared to other cichlids

How long have you had yours if you dont mind me asking?

I've had mine about a year and a half, purchased at an inch and now probably 9".

They're definitely underappreciated, I think it's their size combined with relative ease of accessibility (if you truly want one it isn't impossible) versus other large rare cichlids that have more of a grail status. If a Central American keeper had only room for one giant, they'd probably opt for something like a tomochicla species instead.

Good looking juvenile!

I've never vented them, so I just go by males having longer, pointed dorsal fins, stockier bodies, and kok development in adults. I wouldn't put money on sexing yours, but the fin is more rounded than on mine.

Edit: to clarify my last sentence, I also think it's a female.

The second photo looks like a female, to me. Just look at her eye.
