lol ok I meant dwarf hairgrass at the front just realised, the normal stuff at the front would look wierd! :S

Would kind of defeat the purpose of having rocks if they were hidden.

havnt decided yet, have to see what colours suit when i plant the tank- i know one thing though, they will have to be tiny!

shrimp will go in first, followed by ottos/snails if need be.

Please, very, very small ones. Nothing kills these tanks quicker than slapping a big old tetra in. Destroys the illusion of the iwagumi. Especially when you've taken so much care to do this iwagumi well.

I am looking forward to this tank too. :)

Yeah lol wrong species :fun: , I meant the dwarf hairgrass. Then you would just see a wall of hairgrass and nothing else!

Don't forget to upload pic adam! :D

Ok, plants came today, that consisted of 1 pot of h.c, and 3 pots of e.parvula, i also recieved some crackin amazon frogbit to help block out some of the light..
I took some smaller pieces of p.helferi cuttings from my other tank, i havnt used alot basically becuase i dont have alot, but i have always found it to grow and send runners quickly anyway:

secondly was the hc, i just cut this up into tiny portions:

and lastly, the e.parvula, i didnt quite have enough so i had to miss out the area behind the large stone, this wont be seen anyway, but be sure im trying to find some and rectify the problem:

hoping the e.parvula will green up in the next week and i will be monitoring stats closely, my bubble counter is set to 1 bubble every 2 seconds, this is giving me a green drop checker:

and one last one, just messing around with the camera:

PROBLEMS:
Nature soil broke up in places, hasnt clouded the water which is good, but not what i expected £49.99 substrate!
Filter only just fit into the cabinet with the FE, not room for much else

please leave any comments/critique
thanks
Adam

Looks excellent mate! Maybe one day I will attempt something like this and do it this well  Make sure you keep us updated with the growing :good:

A quick Q as I am expecting my co2 kit and DC this week (fingers crossed). I notice you have your DC above your diffuser, is this the best place to have it? Also is it better to have the diffuser on the opposite site to the filter outlet or under it?

Mike

well, if it was above then it would be bad, but the way i have done it, hopefully it should be ok.. i have put the dc closer to the front than the diffuser, and also the way i have positioned the lily pipes means that the co2 wont just go straight into the dc, the dc will get a mix of tank water from the filter outlet.

thanks for your comments mate, good luck with your tank :)

Looking good. I'm looking forward to seeing how it looks once it's grown a bit.

Also, £49.99 for substrate!? It better be good for that money... Mine was just a £5 bag of sand :D

well it is supposed to be the best substrate availible, coz its got everything ADA's substrate has, but doesnt leach ammonia and doesnt cloud the water.
thanks

Very nice! :good: The parvula looks really good surrounding the rocks. I love p.heliferi but I don't have any!

Brilliant! I expected no less of you lol! Keep up the good work! Not to sure on the frogbit, but I'm sure it will look nicer once it has grown a bit more.

thanks, frogbits just there to block out some of the light and use up the suspended nutrition, not because i like it :)

####! one of the more eventful water changes of my fishkeeping life, spilled water on the floor twice, kicked up a load of the substrate- ###### stuff! so its not how it was i dont think, hard to tell now :(

EDIT: Didnt know they banned Je*us or blo*dy
