i say yes to the microrasbora, but corys arnt really my thing, shrimp is the main priority once the tank is set up, im getting 20 baby cherries from a bloke on ukaps. that should be plenty, and then when they start breeding, just feed them to my other fish in seperate tank

thanks guys

I find dwarf corys irresitible  Corydoras hastatus being my favourite :) Microrasboras are lovely too..... Have you thought about the new micro crabs?? No reports of successful breeding yet (I think) but they are interesting.

Very nice setup btw :good:

I understand. They are a bit pricey. I forgot to mention that Corydoras hastatus is more fish like than cory like. Have a look anyway ;)

Meh, was only an observation. Chill....

if you have nothing better to say please get out of my thread

Heh, Calm down mate. All I meant was the reason I like comming into the Planted section is that every set up is unique, everything I see even the stones are exactly placed in the same order as the picture you provided, What you have done looks extremely good, but its kind of painting by numbers?.

1) the hardscape is different, different stones, different sizes, different textures
2) it wont look anything the same once planted
3) get off my back, if you have a problem fair enough, but i fail to see how your comments are helping anyone

They are more opinions then comments, and to me now it looks the same which is all I was saying. Maybe once it is planted it'll look completley different, but my opinion was based with what is infront of me. This is a board for all to use and I'm free to express my opinions.

Ad mate, this is a problem you'll come across very often. people that love to put others down without actually having strong ground themselves to back there comments up.

don't let it get to you. I'm aware that your new to this and IMO what you've done is of a good standard.

yes, you have opinions and yes you can air them publicly, but to say a newcomer has copied or painted by numbers is not really constructive is it.

copied?....don't we copy all ace of spades?....could i possibly see a link to your innovative style? ;)

Children, children. We have enough angst already with algae. Let us not turn against each other.

Now.

Ace of Spades, you've a right to your opinion. But let me explain. Many young scapers emulate a master scaper. Like young painters learn from a master. They then, once they've learned the skills, develop their own scapes.

There a lot of detail that goes into constructing a fine scape, especially with an Iwugami which is the technique employed here. Many pages of thread will be devoted to the proper placement of the hardscape before planting even begins. There are rules to the Iwugami scape that are very specific regarding placement and type of stones to be used. A very precise and disciplined art.

This section is not about just chucking plants in and seeing how they do. We are very serious about what we accomplish here. If you have a criticism, there are ways to be constructive without being offensive.

AdAndrews, relax. Your scape is going well.

thanks mark and llj, Im proper excited about this one, cant wait to plant it as its my first try, maybe thinking of a red-ish plant to go in with the mostly green colours, its just where to put it
