Acclimating Fish

When I get the fish, I put the bag in my quarantine tank to adjust the temperature for about 15 minutes.

Then I open the bag and gently release the fish with the water from the bag into a 3 gallon bucket. Then I use the drip method (about 2-5 drops per second). Every 5 minutes I remove a cup of water from the bucket (this way there is less and less of the old water).

Thats exactly the same thing which I do with my Fw tank.

Going back to the acclimating thing, when I add the fish and inverts to the thingymabob do I put half the bag's water in and net the fish out then add the other? Or just tip the whole bad and contents into the thing. The latter I think is the worst one!

When Im drip acclimitising a couple of things at once I use a bowl and I just (very gently) pour the contents into the bowl. I try to avoid using nets if at all possible as I believe these cause way more stress then anything else.

I also use the putting water in the bag method over about 2 hours and all my fish etc are doing great.

I would like to use the drip method as it saves the hassle of having bags in my sump and wherever there is space, but the problem i have found when i tried it before was that the water was gettin far to cold to the point where it didnt feel at all warm if you put ya finger in.

does anyone have any methods that they would like to share on keeping the water warm?? or is it gonna be a case of getting a cheap 25 watt heater or 2 to put in the buckets
