A Very English Spring

I like the aponogeton, what a nice touch of red that will be.

I was that impressed by Marks

Yay! Corner tanks!

IAPLC, next year just for a laugh, just to see how discriminatory they can be towards corner tanks!

last pic is my fav, really gives an awesome sense of depth

thanks Steve, i'm just starting to experiment with the camera...i need a new lens!

New lens lol I'm using an iPhone lol soooooooo need a good camera.

there's nowt wrong with the IPHONE 4 camera. I have seen some awesome pics taken by the 4. Is is a HD cam, so you can't go wrong. It's a good as most point and clicks IMO.

just thought i'd drop another Aponogeton pic in. Hopefully this one will get as red as the one above!

When did you change your filter? Any reason for ditching the APS?

Cheers James, good to see you around!

The APS went kaput, it just stopped working. I have to go to my LFS and buy a new one, i came out with a Hydor Prime 30, which i'm over the moon with. I didn't realise how poor the flow was on the APS until i struck this filter up. It was only £60 as well.

That's a bit of a worry. I've had a couple of issues with mine but nothing serious*. Good to know there's a reasonably priced alternative if/when mine goes kaput.

*Unless you count 10 litres of water on the floor after the intake hose became disconnected from the shepherds crook whilse I was at work

Lol. you'll bein fora battering there. bow fronts get wnough criticism from the judges :)

If I remember rightly in the ASE this year while I was scrolling endlessly dow to see howmany romlast I was I read a couple of 'digs' at bo fronts. lol

Scape is coming on. looking lush as always and like Liz I like a scaper who just puts the working pic up. I could probs count on one hand the amount of pics I have taken without equipment in. Many of them with 'slimy' glass. lol because I've taken them just before water changing/cleaning filter etc.

Will check back in a few weeks. lol like you I a 'busy' at the moment.

There's quite a few reasonable priced filters around at the moment, the Superfish filters caught my eye as well. I thought i'd go for an Italian built filter, rather than a Chinese generic filter. Still praising the Hydor though, it's also much easier to clean than the APS as well and you don't have to mess around priming it either, it primes itself. I never did get the APS to prime properly using that pump.

if break top 1000 with a corner tank will you give me a tenner?

As for the baby, it's much easier the second time around!

just one more thing guys...anyone know whats up with this Oto?

The scales don't protude, so that probably rules out dropsy, but geez, the proportions just look all wrong. Hahaha, maybe that's your fry you found all those months ago. The perils of inhaling too much CO2. Nuclear fry.

It's even pushing his/her eyes out. Oliver is sat by the tank waiting for him/her to explode.

Nope, anything is possible in the competitions. Whilst I'm not a fan of curved glass it does make me chuckle at how judges always pick up on it rather than just considering what is being done :)

Indeed easier third time around too :) lol. I was being a little sarcastic really. Apart from the waking up bit the rest is pretty easier. the 5 and 6 year olds are much harder....mainly cos they're awake longer. lol

Doesn't look like any illnes, no red etc. maybe pregnancy, if the eyes are actually popping out then something may well be up with it.

I was jokingly going to say that's why you have an algae free tank......look after that greedy Oto, it's saving your scapes. lol

I had one like that once but not to that extreme. this one is fat not pregnant:

Good luck with her (or him)............talking about the Oto.

well, having a search around on the net, it doesn't look good for the Oto, he's in the nano at the min.

just to let you know, the Oto was dead this morning. All very strange as i haven't really changed anything in the tank.

Happens mate, could just have been something he had when you got him and got worse. I had a Betta that developed a lump and died soon after.

My wife has just treated me to a new lens, a second hand Minolta 'beercan', AF 70-210mm. It takes really good pics!

I had to get one of the tank.
