My god isn't the glass filthy, I break up from College next Monday so I'll go to the Garden Centre and get some more plants/fish, I fancy a community tank again to take me back to when I was just starting the hobby, not very serious but definitely the most fun! I'm thinking of sticking a load of Vallis in at the back and a load of red/brown Crypts in the rear right.

I look forward to it mate!

Get a massive bit of bogwood in there as well, do something a little different. :good:

Looking good matey. :)

I stumbled across east midlands aquatics the other day... Didn't venture in though.

Where abouts are you going to get the plants from?

Thanks, probably Shipley or Trowell Garden Centre, maybe Derby Garden Centre in Little Eaton as they generally have a good range.

Brill.

Ever been to the aquatics at bardills garden centre? Just wondered what they were like?

The MA at East Bridgeford is great for plants mate. As is Wharf Aquatics at Pinxton. I got 26 Vallis plants for £6 :D

Bardills is good, the staff are bit crap though, their only real speciality is Brackish and Marine, they have some great fish in, plants are hit and miss, there's the Japanese Water Garden's next door, while they're not the biggest or best place in the world they do have some great value fish, you can pick shrimp up for as little as 75p each there, when I last went in they had some Cory fry which were super cute :D

The best thing about Bardills is it's 10 minutes from Trowell down the A52 to bramcote and 2 minutes walk from the Japanese Water Gardens, then there's Shipley about 10 minutes from Trowell, makes a good afternoon out to be honest.

Thats my new stomping ground (for work anyway) so i have come across them all over the last couple of weeks. I was very excited

May go and try and get a few cherries then as i want to introduce some new blood into my bunch.

Haven't found the shipley one yet though.

Pay the East Bridgeford MA a visit :good:

Thanks and yes, not the best but better than nothing, incredibly hard to photograph:

The first three I believe are B.brigittae and the final one is B.merah, can you confirm Llj?

Just seen the 1st page, then skipped to the last. What a contrast! Very pleasant on the eye. :)

Thanks, some #29### has been eating my plants, not sure what though, it's mainly the Microsorum that is affected, uniform round little holes over a few leaves, I've ruled out a nutrient deficiency, I guess it could be a plant disease but I guess that's unlikely.

I agree with the brigittae. I'm 90% percent positive on the merah, but you need a more colored up picture. Looks like a female merah to me. Until the brigittae color up, they also look female to me. A male brigittae is very obvious, it's literally a blood bright red with black, one of the most stunning fish in the trade, IMO. Like breeding male cherry barb red. Insane color. I want these fish again, you're making me want them. LOLOL

As far as the java fern is concerned, it does look like somebody's been munching, but sometimes java fern is just stupid like that. I hate that plant. Used it only a few times and promptly got annoyed. If it's got java in the name and it's a plant, I can't keep it alive.
