Amen, Jac.

You've got a lot to learn before you think about breding, betta_love. Start acting mature, and stop with the breeding idea. You aren't ready for it, and it is BETTA ABUSE. Do you know what Betta Abuse is? It is when owners like YOU do the worst thing possible for their fish and end up making them extremely unhappy because you want to look cool.

Well, you don't.

We don't really like you, but we care about what happens to those poor fish you bought. They would be, at this point, better off in walmart, as you don't know Jack about how to care for them. You'll condition the ladies, get them eggbound, and give them slow painful deaths just so you think you look cool.

Yea, thats definitely mature enough to handle the responsibility of breeding..
lol, she'll look real cool. Especially when the fry die.

Betta love- I don't think you should breed the fish yet. Wait and see what happens to the one with the tumor. And, like said above, you probably have too much going on to take care of the fry. Time doesn't look to be the only problem for you tho... it doesn't look like you've researched breeding at all

who is trying to look cool?

HE just wants to try and breed bettas.. if all the fry die so what.. i really dont think he has too much going on.. its summer time.. which means no school..

Well, obviously you feel very differently than most of us about our fish and life in general. School is starting back before ya know it.

summer is 1/2 over.. so theres still about a month.. by that time the fry wont be too needy..

Well, obviously you feel very differently than most of us about our fish and life in general.

why shouldnt he get a chance to breed bettas? cause you or others dont think he should?

and this ''life in general'' crap.. PLEASE.. dont even bother saying things like that

if you dont care if the fish die, why are you here?
this is a place where we discuss how to keep our fish happy and healthy and only after those 2 things have beeen accomplished we begin to discuss breeding.

I have not said word one about him or his breeding (although I feel this best route is the fully informed one). By life in general I was refering to the sanctity of life. If you feel its ok for all the fry to die then we disagree on that issue.

Seriously, Betta_love, if you want anyone to even begin to respect or like you on this forum, you will need to start being more responsible about how you select and care for fish. You've shown a lot of immaturity on this subject by asking advice and ignoring everything, as well as doing the exact wrong things for your Bettas.

Having the money to go out and do breeding is fine and all, but it does not mean it is the right course of action.

Now, what to do about your sick female: Do you have medications at your place? Particularly a fungus and bacterial medicine that "plays nice" together? (Such as Jungles Fungus Eliminator and Parasite Guard?) If not, you need to find out if the "sore" is bacteria based or fungus based, and treat accordingly.

Also, pick up some AQUARIUM SALT (Repeat, in bold, aquarium salt) and add the recommended dosage to help that section heal. Without more information, it is extremely touch and go. Do not be surprised if your fish dies because you do not seem to be willing or capable of providing the proper care, as you are more concerned with hopping onto the "breeding bandwagon".

Breeding is not for beginners. Period.

(When you have kept fish for at least half of the number of years that you have been alive and haven't had much trouble, THEN you could consider breeding.)

Now, are you going to listen this time, or just piss off the entirety of the forums, again?
W.E I already have added some aquarium salt to the tank and some parasite guard and some melafix in there she's in a 5g by herself and if she doesn't get well I'm gonna trade her in :-( and she's pretty

Nibbles: I got her at this shop called Rainforest Spectrum
rainforest spectrum is pretty good, in fact they have offered to take all my crowntail spawn as they come of age. i have given them stock before but it's only been a plakat or two, a couple of super delta and some of the larger crowntails from current spawn. i'm not sure if he has any up for sale yet though. none of the veil tails are mine as i don't breed them and i haven't given him any females.
people are giving you good advise here and i hope you take the time to listen. spend some time getting to really know your bettas before even considering breeding them. they deserve that respect at least right? ;)

Just reading that breaks my heart. Ya know, I have newborn fry hatching right now and just looking at them melts my heart. How anybody can say 'so what' baffles me :(

it might take him breeding them.. and failing.. for him to realize he doesnt have the time or effort to breed them.. i was hinting towards that but no1 seemed to realize it o well..

i love how everyone hints that im a fish killer.. that truly is hilarious

if you say fry at a month old won't be too needy you obviously don't know anything about breeding. My fry are exactly 31 days old right now and they have to be fed AT LEAST twice a day, with daily water changes. If you neglect them at this stage i'm afraid they'll be stunted and enver grow. IN a bit i'll have to move them to a bigger growout tank.

so think again when you say he can breed now, beucase at a month old the fry won't be "too needy"

oh and btw, why would you bother to breed if you dont' care if the fry dies? I agree with wuv, it DOES break my heart to see you say something like that.

feeding twice a day and water change takes what.. 15 minutes?

and where do you get that i breed bettas just to kill the fry..

dont u read what i post?

and yes i do think its funny that ppl think im a fish killer
