I just phoned them and they said keep her for a while and if she's still sick we'll give you a free female and if you want you can still keep the sick female and the sale began today... they got some new stock on wednesday

betta lova-why arent you responding to anyones questions?
you didnt respond to any of the breeding comments/questions and you didnt tell nibbles what pet store you got them from.

as for breeding-i too will have to share the opinoin witht he rest of the folks in this thread.

Seriously, Betta_love, if you want anyone to even begin to respect or like you on this forum, you will need to start being more responsible about how you select and care for fish. You've shown a lot of immaturity on this subject by asking advice and ignoring everything, as well as doing the exact wrong things for your Bettas.

Having the money to go out and do breeding is fine and all, but it does not mean it is the right course of action.

Now, what to do about your sick female: Do you have medications at your place? Particularly a fungus and bacterial medicine that "plays nice" together? (Such as Jungles Fungus Eliminator and Parasite Guard?) If not, you need to find out if the "sore" is bacteria based or fungus based, and treat accordingly.

Also, pick up some AQUARIUM SALT (Repeat, in bold, aquarium salt) and add the recommended dosage to help that section heal. Without more information, it is extremely touch and go. Do not be surprised if your fish dies because you do not seem to be willing or capable of providing the proper care, as you are more concerned with hopping onto the "breeding bandwagon".

Breeding is not for beginners. Period.

(When you have kept fish for at least half of the number of years that you have been alive and haven't had much trouble, THEN you could consider breeding.)

Now, are you going to listen this time, or just piss off the entirety of the forums, again?

W.E I already have added some aquarium salt to the tank and some parasite guard and some melafix in there she's in a 5g by herself and if she doesn't get well I'm gonna trade her in :-( and she's pretty

Nibbles: I got her at this shop called Rainforest Spectrum

me too

And I'm a female. An old crotchity one at that. :)

Lets repeat after the BeccaBlain. "Do. Not. Breed, Betta_Love. Do. Not. Breed."

Now, Betta_Love, you repeat after me: "I will not breed veil tails, and I will wait to breed until I have owned Betta for at least two years (from now) and know how to take care of the little darlings."

At least, you would if you do really love them, because doing otherwise counts as abuse in my book as you don't have the knowledge you need to raise healthy fry.

some people can only get veiltails.. but if you can get better stock.. healthier nice looking ones.. breed them first... if you have no other options then breed the veils.. but im sure youd rather have cooler fish than veiltals lol

do not breed veiltails unless you intend to keep them all.
many pet stores wont buy them from you if you dont have a hatchery license.
they probably already have contracts/deals with suppliers anyways.

as for 'some people can only get veiltails'-you can easily order a non-vt pair online for $20.
if you cant afford that, you cant afford to breed.
