55L Iwagumi Journal

Update:

Lost almost all the fish and shrimp due to my Co2 going crazy while I was at work and pumping in loads of Co2. Only 2 harlequin survived, I will be geting more Monday.

So I have unhooked the Co2 and I'm just adding ferts now, algae is none existent (touch wood) just on the glass in/outlets the plants are really looking bright green and lush so I'm happy, I emptied my other 30L tank so I added some plants out of that. Here's a picture:

It's going well, the plants are looking really health even tho I'm not adding Co2, just liquid form.

Looks good, I missed this pic this morning as you posted it the same time as I posted mine, I'd stick it in TOTM.

P.S. Watch the swear filter bypassing.

Will do. I will take a better picture with my Nikon later.

Sorry about that still realing about it.

Looking really cool mate, sorry to hear about your livestock. I've decided to stop using my CO2 setups as I've had more than 3 incidents which almost ruined everything. Fish before plants eh

My plants are actually doing better now than they was before....how wired is that lol there colour lush from top to bottom. Just trying to decide what to put in there now.

Yeah mine have been about a week with liquid carbon only and they're doing pretty well. To be honest when I was using the CO2 the only plant that seemed to benefit alot was my amazon swords as they've grown massive :hyper: . Just about to order some more liquid as I'm getting a little low on it now

yes very soon else you'll be getting an algae plague again :-(

I have decided, this tank is up for sale so this is the end of my journal.

Thanks everyone for your help and support through the months of setting up this tank, really happy with the out come but I am now moving more in to African cichlids so selling this setup as a whole to part fund my next tank.

Sorry to see your selling it mate, ill be looking out for those cichlids soon lol

Update: weekly maintenance and new black background

I was going to shut this tank down and sell all the parts and plants etc but.....I have decided to keep it seen as I have put a hell of a lot of time, effort and money in to it. So, I need help picking some fish for it but they have to be small and ok for low numbers because it only a 55L tank. Any suggestions welcome !
