lol yeah they are looking good :), but the 3 i just got are younger, so they dont have the full deep red head yet.

If i put apistos in the 20g, then would 6 pygmys, 1 albino cory, 1 peppered cory and a betta be happy in a 10g? i want the tank to have only the 2 apistos, so it could be like an apisto tope

Yes, it should be fine.  Personally, I'd look to rehome the single cories to someone who has a group of them, because ultimately, they are much "happier" with their own species.  Pygmies are very different from the others, spending a considerable amount of time in the midwater.

No rush on the rehoming, as they would be fine in the 10 gallon tank for a while, but something to put out there in the classifieds, or get in touch with a local fish club, etc.

I assume you would then move the mosquito fish to the 20 gallon?

yeah i would move the mosquitoes to the 20 gallon. I would have already gotten rid of the single corys but ive had the albino since i had my first tank about 7 years ago (he has been around a long time) and my mom loves him. I would love to give him and the peppered to a good home, but i cant sell anything (or give away) on here since my dad won't let me. My lfs would probaly take my peppered, but since my alibno is so old they probaly would take him, and he has no fins (except for little stubs) and hes been like that since we got him. But i am trying to look around for people who have fish tanks, and they would like my corydoras. The only people i know are people who breed convicts (in a 55 gal tank) and they have probaly about 100 in there (last time i checked, about 2 years ago) and they can't get rid of any, since no one wants convicts since they are agressive and breed like rabbits. so they have been euthinizing (huanely) about 10 convicts a week because at any given moment they have about 6 batches of 100 fry, but most of the fry don't survive (for obvious reasons)

I understand the attachment to a 7 year old fish.  In that case, I wouldn't rehome it.

Sad story about the Convicts....  They might have to consider gender specific tanks or something...

i know, i have told them (the daughter goes to my school) to remove the parents, so the fry get eaten, and i have also asked them for fry, so i could feed by fish, but they don't have any impact on the population. The convicts are weak though, they started out with only 10, and have added none, so they are all inbred. But the last time i checked they had this huge monster that was 7 inches and he ruled the whole tank. but hopefully they will remove all the males or something and make it gender specific, or rehome every single convict to people who would use them as tankmates for bigger fish, or for some people who use them as feeder fish, and maybe they could start all over.

yeah, hopefully they will find somebody to take most of them

my kribensis, died and i have no idea why :/
everyone else is doing great

i propogated? my crypts and so now it is 19 crypts. i added to pvc pipes, one is cover in java moss, and the other has one java fern. i cut of most of the leaves on the mother amazon and amazon sword, but they leaves were all brown and transparent. i plan on getting one more java fern to attach to the pvc pipe with the other one, and i will be getting 2 gold rams, next week, which is why i added more hideouts

i just added 1 koi angelfish. it is about half the size of the angels in there currently, so it will hopefully be left alone. if not, i will put it in the 20 gallon, until i figure out a solution

nvm, something happened. i think it was the GBR since the angels were leaveing it alone. i woke up today and i found it dead

the 2 original angelfish were liplocking, anyone know what that means?

I think liplocking is a sign of aggression. I would put money on the angels taking the new one out. A while ago, someone told me to always keep angels in even numbers, especially when adding new/smaller ones to a tank with angels already in it. My angels seem like really peaceful things but some things have happened when the lights are off and Im pretty sure it was them :shifty: if you want to add more angels, I would suggest adding two. I had one larger sized angel and I really wanted another but knew I couldn't add just one and feel safe about it, so I added 3 small angels. My big angel showed a bit of aggression at first and wouldn't let the new ones swim in certain spots of the tank, and would bully them a little, but it was obvious that having them in numbers really made a difference. Now all 4 of them get along great, and it only took a couple days for them to settle into a group :)

hmmm, i think so? I have 4 in a 60 gallon. depends on what else you have for top-middle swimmers. I know it was covered earlier on in this thread, im just on my first cup of coffee lol :)
