5 Hours Later...

Quick update. Some plants have not done well as my lights have just gone wrong and had to run 1 30w light for a few days. My new ballast should either be at home wating for me or come tomorrow and the lights are due to be delivered tomorrow! When they come I am hoping it will all sort itself out again!
Some plants have grown very well however, the java fern, anubias and what I think is hygro of somesort but not a clue, are all doing well. The lights are the last tweak to the working system then I can leave alone apart from feeding (fish and plants) and w/c. I am rethinking the stocking and possibly will be trying to rehome some tetras and make it less crowded. Possibly bring in some bigger fish other than tetras, that or more Cories :D

It needs to go terribly wrong so my cycle can be finished and so I can take over! :shifty:

My new light ballast and bulbs have arrived this week but I have been off ill for a few days so I used the time to get them set up last night.
Quite a few plants suffered because of the old lights failing and then having a low light for a while. I am hoping they will perk up with the new lights.
I took the pictures with the lights of in the room that is why the tank looks darker than before :) Also the background that was on the tank I had to give when I sold my other tank, so excuse what is behind the tank :D

I had to move the Tonina out into the front when the lights failed so that it got as much light as possible, but for a 'difficult' plant it seems to have had a good amount of growth when you look at the other pictures. It has had a decent amount of ferts though!

The pygmy chain has done pretty badly on the right, and the Riccia I was trying to grow really failed with hardly any lighting.

Floating on top is bits and bobs that seems to be growing ok. Riccia is floating among it with some indian fern and frogbit, they haven't grown really nicely yet but am hoping they will.

I will give it a week and see if it changes at all :) It doesn't look too good atm!

BEAUTIFUL.

I think you've won our little competition...

It truly is stunning, I'll be happy if my tank end up looking half as good as that. It's perfection.

Had a slight move around to sort plants out. Moved tonina to the back and moved crypts to the front. I removed all dead leaves due to the lights before and noticed nice growth on quite a few plants. Need my hairgrass to grow and spread a bit. So heres the pic, still no background!

Looking good. It'll really come into its own once you get some form of backing on and the tank really stands out from the decour of the behind walls.

I love the wood in this tank.

Great work. You need to pray for my cycle to be over soon.

Haha yes please excuse whats behind the tank
Tempted to try black bin liners but no tape to secure it. Only one i have is 4 and half foot so not long enough. Also no clue how i will get down the back to put it on!

No josh i want it to keep going forever *insert evil laugh here*

Looking really good... really interested how the Tonia gets on... really am considering this in my next scape.

Anyways excellent job on the tank and keep up the good work :good:

Right not updated in a good while. Tomorrow I have a plan to have a little move around in the tank, really unhappy with how the wood is so want to try something a little different! Will take a before and after pic :)

Thank you :)

Right heres to the update.

This is the before photo, it is really poor as was taken on my camera phone as camera had no batteries

The Tonina has been growing so well I keep just cutting it in half and planting again, you can see 2 stems growing up to the top! Water level is low as I started emptying some water then remembered a photo :D

This is the tank now, send the BF to get some batteries but the pics aren't brilliant as my camera settings are rubbish! There are little bits of riccia floating around as it has multiplied loads in my tank and I disturbed it while moving bits. As you can see I am taken over by floating plants!

This is the wood arrangement!

the pics make it look pretty pants and it looks better to see it properly as the colours are funny in the pics!

The dwarf hairgrass hasn't been doing too well but is better now I have a powerhead in there. The pygmy chain completely died off but has started to grow back and has runners going every direction! Both of these plants can hardly been seen in the pics.
