4Ft (286Litre) 'planted' Tank

There a 3 albino bristlenose in there at the moment, it will be another week before anything else will be going in. I will be doing some checks to make sure the bacteria is keeping up with stocking

Test results
Ammonia = 0
NitrIte = 0
NitrAte = 20

Tank will get a 50% WC tomorrow morning, and gravel clean. The BN have stirred up the gravel me thinks, and it is dirty (which has kept the tank cycled during the filter and fish down time)

I think i have stock worked out. This tank will become a tiger barb tank, housing approx 40 (green moss, albino, moss green platinum & tigers) & 1 redtail shark

Am just working out supply through my local fish store, they will be added 10 colour type at a time.

The more i look at this the more tempted i am to pull the black gravel and the UGF and change it to sand *sigh* I think the barbs will look better, tank is quite dark.

I'm holding off until i get the new light tubes to see how it looks then, but yeah lighter coloured sand (not necessarily white though)  is looking good!

I've decided to go PFS in this tank, i will be picking it up this week. Not looking forward to pulling all the gravel i can tell ya lol Now particularly removing all the decor and redoing!

I just think sand will look better.

Stocking has changed also, this will end up a tiger barb tank all going well, 10 tigers, 10 gold tigers, 10 green moss tigers & 1 redtail shark (and a possible BGK)

What brand plants did you use? All the plastic plants I've seen look so tacky but yours look great!

Thanks :)

Not sure what the brands were, i'll have to try and write them down when i get some more. Most of the plants in here are silk, i prefer them to plastic as the move like real plants and look better :)

So this tank stand needs to move to another part of the room (fitting in a pool table *L*). Canister will be put onto another tank for the move. I will need to fully drain it, and will take out gravel while its down & remove UGF. This also has another tank on the stand, i will be dropping the water level down to just enough to cover the fish, then it will be moved (i hope) & levelled. Then i will replace the substrate with sand, redecorate and fill em up

So decor & 'planting' will be different, will update with a pic when its all done

Good luck, hope the move goes well. Any tips you have from the move would be great as I have to move mine soon to make way for a bigger one

Well its moved, thank the fishy gods for furniture sliders lol, moving it without them would have been darn near impossible. So yep, its in its new home, but darnit, its not level so now gotta try to lift one end just a little bit, if we can that is, if not the water level will be a bit higher one end, and i'll live with it lol

I cant do anything else until we try to get it level *sigh*

It self levelled while i was having dinner, gotta love that!! So sand has all be washed and put in. Decor is in as are the plants. Will fill it in the morning and tweak anything that looks different once water is in it :) Pic tomorrow sometime :)

Tank is now filled and running..new pic soon. Looks so much brighter with the sand, loving it

Still clearing, cause i was a bit slap happy with rinsing the sand lol. But this is it now :)
