45 Gallon Reef Diary From Setup To...?

An update on theatre operations for the new month of November. For months now, command has been searching for recruits of Trochus heritage to add to diversity of the 1st Algal Demolitions Army... Two days ago, recruiters finally pulled through and rushed Captain Marco Sturm and Captain Robert Beldar through officer training and sent them to the front. Captains Sturm and Beldar have been sticking to the boarders of the theatre but are doing quite well thus-far. They managed to pose for military press before rushing off to their duties:

With luck, the addition of these new officers will assist the Army in taking the fight to enemies and new activity cells yet unseen.

As it has now been nearly two weeks since General Eisenhart began his tour of duty, the constituents deserve an update on his progress. General Eisenhart still has much territory left to cover but has clearly been doing quality work. This first view of the theatre was taken at the commissioning of General Eisenhart.

And this second photograph was taken today. Note the general's clear successes especially on the western front.

New friendlies were also added yet have not come out of hiding yet. When they do they will be properly introduced. Much work is left to be done, yet the 1st Algal Demolitions Army under the command of General Eisenhart is up to the task.

Ah keep up the fight dude, looking nice i do too like the mushrooms :good:, funny u can see where the sea hare has been in the 1st pic and see if he ate any lol.

Yes, general eisenhart is definitely a sea hare :)

The mushrooms are actually all just growth. They drop new polyps and then float away to attach elsewhere... Too bad most of them seem to end up at the other end of the tank by the hammer coral where they get summarily digested

Ski i know your not on the comput as much as you were but it is a crime punishable by death to make a thread this good and never update it .Also i came acros a way to get rid of GHA fresh water mollies .Try aclimating one with a very slooooooow drip . Aperently they love the stuff and so do gupies. They also eat cyno.

BBBBBBblllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa spelling sucks! :S :S  :S

Tell me about it, gotta get internet at home first. Just a little tidbit, General Eisenharts mission is complete and there will be exceptional aquascaping changes tomorrow. If the TWC Engineers show up I may even be able to entertain you all with pics ;). Keep your fingers crossed

Today is a great and historic day in the history of the aquatic theatre. After much toil, trial, and tribulations, the corps of engineers finally returned communications to the theatre. No longer will command be hampered by lack of internet access and fuzzy views on its digital screens, full connectivity has been restored :good:

As such, updates to the constituency are required. Once darkness falls, proper photographs will be taken of the entire theatre. For the moment, all attempts at photography are stymied by high yellow light content. However to hold things off until this evening, Command offers this new friendly sedentary colony of what ar known as Giant Palythoas. They're size exceeds that of a silver dollar.

When conditions are right this evening, command will detail another great and momentus event, the cessation of hostilities :D

And now that darkness has fallen it is my GREAT pleasure to tell one and all of General Eisenharts victory! On this the 25th day of the 11th month of the 2006th year of our Lord, the Forces of Algae surrendered to General Eisenhart and his Algal Demolitions Army. The enemy has been routed from their positions and ended this war. Som scarring of the field of battle still remains but today is V-A day :D. Due to General Eisenhart's fierce hunger for combat, he has been transferred out of service to an allied army in hopes of satiating his hunger for battle. Meanwhile, the General's second in command, Major Julio Chaves and his subordinates, Captains Sturm and Beldar will be required to keep any Insurgency at bay. Hopefully they are up to the task.

For a photographic depiction of the General's success, please view these before and after recon photos of the theatre:

Now that victory has finally been achieved, command has seen fit to turn its attention to engineering feats. The corps of engineers has been recruited to fabricate new powerheads and more importantly to design a new landscape. A great earthmoving project will be undertaken as soon as the corps has sufficient time.

Glad to hear the enemy is on the run. :good: I gotta get me one of those Sea Hares... :S

Watch out, that Brain Coral is getting awfully close to the Mushrooms

Yeah, behind the brain coral there's still some space. But all that will be moot point when I re-aquascape. Some of those mushies will likely be unfortunate casualties :(
