Erghh :X , well i've got the bottom part of the bulkhead off.Any ideas how to get down into the weir and uncrew the top part? Also for the sump im going to separate a tiny bit of it to keep the heater and pump in order.I'll show you (andywg and skifletch, if you are sitll following) what supplies I will be getting.

To attach the T to the end cap
I am following design from this website. :/ - http://www.midwestcustomaquariums.com/dursostandpipe.html

Can you see anything rong with the dimentions?

I'll be getting a 2nd overflow made.22' high with 1/2 ich gap inbetween the old one with 1 inch teeth at the top and 2 inch teeth at the bottom (hopefully cut by a glass maker).Sound ok?Then all I need is a trickle tower built, which you sylocone or glue this to the sump to hold it up, right? :good:

If you copy that design you linked last you'll be all set. Just make sure you get all the right pipe sizes. Stick to all 1", don't mess with reducers :).

As for the racks of the trickle tower, I'd make legs out of PVC pipe with holes drilled across the diameter near the ends. Then just wire tie the "legs" to the racks toa make nice easy feet. make sense?

Yup, what is a good thing to tie it with though?

So, skifletchy. If I were to have a 32mm drain in the overflow would all those pipesizes be correct and fitting to each other?

Thanks :good:

If you have a hole for 32mm pipework (the hole should be around 40mm if memory serves correct) then I would recommend just using all 32mm pipe for the overflow. It's what I always do.

Don't forget, always silicone the bulkheads to the tank, that prevents the rubber gaskets from ever degrading and leaking.

Yeah, Andy's right about the silicone. Always always always :)

...Incase you missed the q's :)

Ok then, lots of sylocone lol.

Wait a sec, just had a thought lol.For the durso pipe you have the pipe connecting to the bulkhead and then the T connecting to it.So do you buy the pipes the same width (say 32 mm) or the pipe connecting to the bulkhead at 32 mm and the T 40 mm to fit onto it?

Thanks

Dammit! Dad got home with this massive monkey wrench thing but because of the bend on it, it touches the glass in the overflow. I cant actually get it round the bulkhead.Any ideas, a massive spanner maybe? -_-

Confused, what are you trying to wrench?

Well, the bulkhead was cut off and needed removing, I managed to get the bottom part of with this weird chain thingy which did basically the same as a spanner.Anyway It wouldn't fit down the overflow box to unscrew the top part of the bulkhead so my dad got a monkey wrench. The wrench won't fit because it's not straight, I can't get it down into the overflow to unscrew the bulkhead without it touching the glass.Any ideas?
