2025 MLB

Ronald Acuna Jr from the Braves will not participate in the 2025 HOME RUN derby in Atlanta, today. 1B Matt Olson will take the spot in the derby. Acuna said he had back tightness, was not himself in last nights game (started at 2 but ended at 8 cuz of 4 hours of total rain delays!). Matt will look to win the derby tn for his home town. Hope he does, my fav player!! Also James Wood could be a favorite tn.
Number 1 pick last night for the NATS was Eli Willits who is 17. Youngest player ever to get drafted number ONE!!
Also a update about braves Manager. Brian Snitker is expected to retire after his 2025 campaign. He has been in the ATL braves organization for 47 years! Or somewhere close to that LOL.

Tarik Skubal and Paul Skenes are starting pitching for AL and NL tom. BOI OH BOI will that be a sight to see.

Cleveland's 3rd base Jose Raneriz is also skipping the all star game for pretty much the same reason. He has recently been hit by pitches on both hands and has a sore leg. While he enjoys the mid season game he is more concerned with his actual team and feels that he better serves the team by skipping the game and getting over some nagging injuries.

When would you ever think there would be a home run swing off to decide a MLB baseball game? Is this a dream??? What a game.

What team is the hottest team in baseball right now?
The Boston Red Sox...they have won their last 10 games and are now just 3 games out of First place in the American League East. After a slow start this season, they are running on all cylinders right now. It's going to be interesting to watch how they play for the rest of the season.

Yes, I think Rafael Devers leaving somewhat boosted their clubhouse energy. To be honest, he was somewhat selfish, and sometimes making moves like that can help the ball club.

Good start for the second half for Cleveland with winning 8-6 against the A's and, starter, Slade Cecconi, going into the ninth inning... Could have been better as Cleveland was up 8-1 after 5 innings but still a good start for the second half.

Braves beat on the Yankees last night to pick up a 7-3 victory. Acuna jr had a double and triple, with on of the e most amazing throws of all time from right field!! You have to find the video @jaylach u will never see something like it again. Truly atlantas RF has the best arm in MLB!!

Just an obscure thought... ;)

We all probably figure that balls and strikes will end up being called by computer within 2-3 years. We also know that the ball/strike calls have been terrible for a few years.

Just to start a possible conspiracy theory I wonder if the bad ball/strike calls are intentional to make fans more favorable toward computer calls. ;)

Personally I don't want computer calls as it lessens the game's human element but figure it is going to happen. I also don't like extra innings starting with a runner on second nor do I like the DH. If starting extra innings with a runner on second is the best way to go why is it not done in playoff games? :dunno: As to having a DH it is just a way to extend the career of a popular player that can't any longer perform on defense. To me it just turns a chess match in to a game of checkers. It takes a lot of strategy away from the game.

Man, what a bad hit for Cleveland! I've said several times that Emmanuel Clase, the best closer in the game, didn't seem like himself. Mayhaps the reason is gambling... Clase has been put on suspension for involvement in gambling.

Luis Ortiz, another pitcher, was earlier placed on the same suspension.

Are they guilty? I have no idea but I'm still disgusted. Still, by previous year's performance compared to this year they have both games games in relief that should have been automatic wins.

Sad for Cleveland baseball and I truly hope both are found to have done nothing wrong.

How bout those Red Sox. They are the hottest team in baseball right now. They have another win streak of 7 wins in a row and are 9 wins and one loss for the last 10 games. After a poor season start, they are now just 2.5 games out of first place in the AL east.

Gavin Williams, Cleveland's starter today, put on a performance. He came one out short of a complete game no-hitter. Mets fans gave him a standing ovation.

<edit>
Just to add-on... Do you ever actually feel sort of bad for teams like the White Sox and Rockies? Or a better question may be if you feel bad for the fans. I mean the Rockies can't even reach .500 if they won every remaining game...
