    Black Neons Feeding Off Bottom

They're not bottom feeders, that's not to say they won't eat from the bottom now and again. Sounds to me as if they're spending a lot of time on the bottom though, as space for them is being mentioned.

    Black Neons Feeding Off Bottom

My black neons generally hang in the middle, and certainly are not bottom feeders, altho they might pick the odd scrap up. Corys are bottom feeders and most don't grow that large, although it sounds like you might be overstocked already (especially with odd behaviour like that). What have you...

    Snails Came In On Plants

Assasins are available in a lot of lfs, they may be dotted around various tanks though so you should ask. They're very attractive snails, slow breeding and I can vouch for their pest snail removal skills! Ps get the eggs out asap!

    Club Fin

I see. Is it just an unfortunate bit of luck, or should I be doing anything extra?

Bump. Found this little cory dead today. Anyone got any ideas? X

    Club Fin

I've just noticed one of my panda corys (the runt of my 5) seems to have some sort of clubbed fin, looks like its wrapped in a tiny bit of cotton wool. Anyone know what this might be and how dangerous it is? Thanks!

Minimum School Size For Neon Tetras

Seeing as you haven't had an answer yet... 6 is generally considered the minimum, although the more there are the more natural they'll act and the better the effect.

    Filter Transition

Had to go at it with scissors but its up and running now. To say the flow is stronger than my fluval 105 was would be an understatement, I've had to remove some plants!

Should I try and get the old sponge in there too?

Ok great should be able to do that tonight then!

    Filter Transition

What's the best (and preferably the easiest) way to get my bigger better filter up and running and cycled? Can I just move the media over? Or would the uncycled media get in the way? Thanks!

    Filter For My New Tank

I've literally just bought a jbl e901 for my roma 125 with old cabinet (it does fit providing my measurements are correct!). There's not much in terms of reviews but what Ive read is good, and its jbl, which is German... speaks for itself somewhat. It's easiest the best bang per buck wise...

    Id?

Thanks everyone, to be honest its a poor picture, their colours are very vibrant there's pink, purple, blue and green, they look particularly good when the sun catches them. Will try for some better pics, but phones aren't too hot at snapping hyper fish!

    Id?

I've had two of these lads a while now, was just wondering if they're a specific type of guppy? Pic attached. Thanks!

    Cleaning Sand

One other thing, just use a tube or length of hose without the large bit on the end (only really useful for digging into gravel) it'll sucks a lot better.

Thanks all, think I've made my mind up!

    Still Hunting...

for a new external canister filter. Its driving me nuts. I have discovered I can pick up a fluval 305 for the same price as a 206. After investigating various other brands, the fluvals look sturdier, maybe I'm biased as I have a 105. Nonetheless, can I get some opinions on the 305? My tank is...

    Anyone Use/used A 'jbl Cristalprofi E900'?

Any reason you didn't go for the greenline e701 version for up to 200ltrs? I think I'll be making a purchase tonight too! Go team!

    Anyone Use/used A 'jbl Cristalprofi E900'?

Hold on nurglepuss I've made a breakthrough, look at this thread: http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?/topic/298718-jbl-cristal-profi-external-filter-e900/page__pid__3139379#entry3139379

    Anyone Use/used A 'jbl Cristalprofi E900'?

I'm very tempted by this external filter, I need someone to tell me its a good buy though. It's the same price as a tetratec ex700 but it claims to filter 200lph more. Link here: http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/fish/filters_pumps/canister_filters/jbl/102999 My tank is 125l. If I don't get any...

BBA what would you personally suggest in terms of bang per buck then? The e701 JBL says it filters 700lph (same as the tetratec ex700): http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/fish/filters_pumps/canister_filters/jbl/210139#more

Wats the difference between a 205 and a 206? I don't know anything about eheims. To use an americanism, I'd like whatever offers the most bang per buck really, I'm on a really tight budget!
  26. S

    Filter Size

I'm swaying towards the 205 to be honest as my 105 has been very reliable. Would the jbl e107 be big enough? Choosing a new filter is hard work! I may well sell the 105 when I've made a decision, will give you a shout if I do.

So looks like I'm gonna be spending 70 odd quid, is the tetratec ex700 the best filter for that money? What does it turnover?

    I Have Krib Fry!

I can't wait for this, I want 2 paired kribs as my centrepiece fish'! Last addition to my tank. Have yours coloured up nicely as they always look a tad bland in the shop?

Bumping this as I've discovered the All Pond Solutions EF1000, which seems like excellent value for money, claiming to turnover 1000lph for aquariums up to 400litres. I've heard a lot of people moan about the flow rate though. Would this filter actually be an upgrade, only asking because someone...

    Darn It

Lol @ tizer. Chili rasboras, and celestial pearl danios are tiny, these would definately by preferable, although they're quite skittish/shy so could still fin nip/be subject to bullying.

    Darn It

Let me get this straight, you had 2 hillstream loaches, 4 gobies and 1 fighter and some shrimp in 34ltrs of water? Far be it from me as I'm no expert, but that sounds cramped? Especially with a fighter in the mix.

    Lost Cory

Yea I've seen them shooting up and gulping air but they shoot back down almost as quick, releasing it on their way! The gaps are the relatively small ones for the filter tubes etc. more on the back than the top. The corys are great though, most intriguing and fun fish I've owned thus far! Let's...

    Lost Cory

I had 5 panda corys this morning, this evening 1 is missing. I've spent 15 minutes looking for it but nowhere to be seen. Are they particularly good hiders?! Bit worried it may have jumped out of one of the lid gaps, theyr not jumpers tho are they? Anyone ever lost a fish before?

Heater For Non Fish Tank Application

The first link is for the correct heater, the second seems to be for a rena 'cal' heater which I'm not aware of. I bought mine from here: http://www.seapets.co.uk/products/aquarium-supplies/fish-tank-equipment/aquarium-heaters/thermostatic-heaters/rena-smart-heater-50w.html I think the specs...

Heater For Non Fish Tank Application

I have a rena smart heater and they claim they're unbreakable. One of the selling points is that its never hot to the touch due to heating from inside. It's also made of metal and plastic so won't shatter. I never turn mine off when doing large water changes, where the water level drops...

    Active Pandas!

I bought some panda corys last weekend as I wanted some bottom dwellers. However they haven't been doing much bottom dwelling! Especially when the light is on they tumble around and swim up to the top and shoot back down! Just wanted to check that this is normal?!
