for a new external canister filter. Its driving me nuts.

I have discovered I can pick up a fluval 305 for the same price as a 206. After investigating various other brands, the fluvals look sturdier, maybe I'm biased as I have a 105.

Nonetheless, can I get some opinions on the 305? My tank is 125l.

Ta!

I have a 305 on my 125 , a good filter, simple design, had it nearly a year now no leaks lots of media space . As with all externals ensure a good maintenance regime and it will last. I can't find any negative points, mind you I have only ever used fluval, so nothing to compare it too.

I run fluvals in all my tanks, except the latest one (as I'm a bit poorer!) I agree, they are simple, robust and they last.

Only ever use Fluvals myself.
I have the 406 running and very happy with it.
Quiet, sturdy and easily maintained.
My friend has the 305 running on his Roma125 and is very happy with it.
Never had a problem with any Fluval filter I have owned over the years.

I’ve used Eheim, Fluval, Rena, Tetratec..never come across issues with the Eheim Classic range. Simple yet effective 
