As some of you may know, I now have a house! It's not much but it's something :D I was supposed to live in a dorm- as most college students do- but the room was being fumagated....so the univ. gave us this!!!! luckiest college sophs. in the country? :rolleyes...

This is my 10g tank...taken at night.... really well planted, some neons, a few catfish, not much else :D Photo probably too small right now...will work on making resolution bigger.

....and it comes in that little black thing, can you remove it and plant it? i have alot of plants in my 10g tank- black sand substrate. im not thrilled with the plants that are in the black plastic planter containers. if i remove them, can i plant them directly in the sand? thanks!

So I've decided that since i added sand to my tank, I need more or better filtration. Right now, I have the standard biowheel for 10g. Would I get better filtration doing.... a- adding another 10g biowheel, having 2 b- taking my 10g biowheel out and replacing with the next level biowheel...

hmm....interesting. thanks Curly :D Question for all- If I'm getting another filter...is it better to have two identical 10g biowheels running or just one larger one? thanks :D

So I just changed my 10g tropical community from gravel to black sand. Everything water wise is fine- ph and the such. However, my biowheel filter has been stopping every half hour or so. I jiggle it a bit and then..... whallah! it's alive! but then it eventually stalls again. does sand...
