i have just aquired a outsize tank,,,40inches long x 18inches deep x 26inches water depth about 65 uk gallons...

i want to have this as a community tank, but obviously the dimensions are not standard.

i would like some inspiration please on ideas of how you would furnish this tank if it was yours, obviously i need to gain some hieght with my subsrate and decor to give this tanksome scope,,i dont want everything in the bottom few inches and nothing in the top 18 inches...

any ideas or pictures would be gratefully received,

thanks,,,,,john,,,,, :S :S :S

Angel fish would be good as it's a deep tank, but then you gotta avoid little fish like neons as they may get eaten!!!

I was thinking angels too - they like tall tanks, so this would be great for an angel tank :)

My tank is deep as well...
I used rocks I collected out walking and built them up along the back of the tank.I used aquarium sealer to attach some rocks to each other and in several places attached to the glass of the tank back...to make it stable. It is easily removed with a sharp blade so you can redecorate if you want to later.
This is a bad pic,but you can get an idea...small rocks can make a big impact :)

If you get angels, you will be somewhat limited in your choice of smaller tetras (supposing you want any) as the angels will snack on neons, cardinals, and the like when they get big. I would suggest about 3-4 discus and a small shoal of cardinals (8-12) as well as a couple of otos to clean the glass.
