SUSHI I have just started keeping tropical fish and started with Platties as was told they were hardy fish. One of the fish shops where I live said that Platties have good strains and over bred strains so I think that maybe you just hard a bad strain of Platty. Keep trying to bred Platties as...

Just wondered if anyone has an idea of how old Guppy's and Platties have to be to start breeding?? I have plattie fry :D (2 weeks old) and guppy fry :D (1 week old) and not sure how to tell which sex they are. Please can someone help. Thanks George :cool:

Just wondered if anyone Knows how big or old platty fry should be before I take them out of the Breeding trap. I only have 3 in the trap as I could not catch all of them without disterbing the other fish. Thanks George :whistle:

I bought Fry food that is a powder but was only able to catch 3 little monkeys so the others are eating the little bits of the flake food that the adults don't eat and they are just as big as the fry in the trap. Someone said brine shrimp are good. Good luck. :thumbs:

Sorry can't send a picture. The scales have come off and it is sought of white and flaky at the edges. It does not look like cotton wool.The patch is not getting bigger and it looks smooth where the scales have come off? Is that OK not too sure what else to say. George

Hi Have caught 3 Platty fry (two more to catch) and they are in my breeding trap and am feeding them tera fish dust. They are eating it but how often do I try and clean the trap out as the fish dust goes to the bottom?? George :thumbs:
