Why are regular tropical fish flakes no good? They are the base of the diet in all of my tanks, and my 2 boys are healthy little pigs :) They also enjoy algae wafers, which as the package says are "for all types of catfish, plecostomus and other algae eaters".

Yes, I use a pen tablet and SAI :3 - my favourite for drawing/painting digitally.

Live lucky bamboo will be fine in a tank as log as the leaves and the growing part will be above water.

TetraMin tropical flakes, Tetra betta flakes, Lovefish tropical pellets, King British algae waffles and live daphnia, sometimes live bloodworm and fruit flies.

I have a fluval chi, and it really is a fine tank, I wouldn't exchange it :) It needs more water changes (evaporation) than my other tank with a lid and some regular scrubbing on the edges (residue from hard water) but it's worth it :) I'm also growing live plants under the light provided.

You can try different flake food or soak some pellet/flake food with bloodworms. I had a picky betta but he changed when he realized that if he doesn't eat everything what's available other fish will eat it for him >w< Bubble (betta) still pick the better bits when other fish aren't around, but...

You can wash them thoroughly under running tap. I personally wouldn't bother a lot, because I once had an outbreak of snails in my tank and after I introduced tiger barbs they ate all of them :) So if you have snail eating fish you should be fine.

If you don't need anything powerful then airpump from penn plax filter kit is extremely quiet. If you place it on flat surface you can't hear it :) I'm using it to run airstone, before I had interpet airpump but it was too noisy.
