Hello everyone
Last week I went away for the weekend and when I came back one of my cherry barbs was missing. I have thought that it has died, and other fish ate it because I couldn't find it anywhere. Today when I was doing water change I wanted to clean the filter as well and found the missing fish -.- I didn't think any fish would be able to actually get there so I didn't check it before. Stats are ok too (ammonia and nitrite are 0, and didn't check for nitrates because I'm usually doing 2 water changes a week).
Now the question is should I assume the fish was weak or dead and thats why it got sucked in and don't do anything with the filter? Or is the filter really that powerful to get a healthy fish inside and I should put something over the intake? I often see my fish swimming near the filter and it doesn't seem to bother them at all .
