Update, it looks a lot better today, but there was a little ammonia showing in it's tank water so I've decided to give it another try in the main tank. Still a bit grey but miles better than it was a few days ago. I'm going to call it Lazarus.

It's stopped sliming and gone grey & shrunken now, I think it's dead. Removed it to quarantine yesterday, didn't want it rotting in the tank. I'll give it a chance on it's own but I reckon it's a gonner.

An algae scrubber

Try trapping it, instead of netting it. Maybe with a glass or plastic bottle with a little food inside (with no other food available to it) Then when the little #29### goes in, stick a net over the top of the bottle quick and pull it out.

It hasn't changed shape or grown as far as I can tell. Certainly not grown anyway. Still sliming.

Maybe I've been moving it round too much? I assumed something was irritating it, but everything else seems ok. I'll leave it be for a bit longer and see what happens.

I think having a RO unit (and preferably a RODI one) is essential. They don't cost much (check out Ebay) and will pay for themselves easily over time. Also, some fish shops RO water leaves a lot to be desired. I went around several local places with a TDS meter (something else you can get on...

Yep, so would I! I'm new to corals and marine so I'm taking it slow. I'll be adding more corals (softies) as I learn more about keeping them happy. It is additive though, I'm already thinking about a bigger tank!

Advantages - increases volume of water, allows you to put heaters & other equipment out of the main tank and out of sight. It can also provide a place to put a problem fish if you feel the need

Removing an replacing the silicon caulking doesn't take long. I did my 4 ft tank in less than a couple of hours (plus drying time). It's not difficult either. The vinegar thing, I believe, is to dissolve any limescale deposits which may hold stuff you don't want in a reef setup.

Well they're all still going! I think it must have been the chrom's, they have been trying to muscle onto the remaining clowns turf all day, he keeps seeing them off. I haven't seen one take a nip at him (and he has no visible damage) but he is taking no chances and is getting his retaliation...

What you could do is use a sharp blade to cut out the silicon calking from the inside of the joints (careful not to perforate the actual joint between the glass panels though) and then recalk it with aquarium grade silicon. If there's a residue from the treatments it will be in the silicon...

Thanks, I think you're right. Everyone else seems fit and well this morning and they are all feeding well. The sick clown died in the night though. The remaining clown keeps charging the chromis if they come close while the CB seems pretty shy of everything so I guess that might suggest that...
