Hi, My first post here.

This clownfish has been in my new reef for a month, along with it's partner and a yellow tang (and an assortment of inverts)

Today I added 5 green chromis and a coral beauty. I didn't quarantine and am now kicking myself.

So far, everything else seems fine including the other clown.

This happened very quickly. The fish went from fine to laying on the bottom of the tank in the condition in the vid above in no more than a couple of hours (when I noticed it)

All water parameters are fine (No ammonia, nitrite, nitrate or phospate, ph 8.2, DKH 7.28, Temp 79 (has been higher today), sal 1.025)

There are no white spots or other marks that I can see aside from the tattered fin and tail and a small area that looks somewhat red on one side of the fleshy bit of the tail.

I gave it a 2 minute FW dip and have it quarantined now.

Frankly I don't expect it to survive but am wondering what I can do should the other fish become infected, which, given the circumstances I guess is likely.

To me, it looks like something attacked him. Since you just added fish, suspect one of them. Perhaps the coral beauty If that is the case, a freshwater dip won't help. I would put him into a different tank for now or he will most likely just get picked on by the others. If you don't have any meds on hand (to help heal his injuries), all you can do tonight is see if he makes it through to tomorrow.

Thanks, I think you're right.

Everyone else seems fit and well this morning and they are all feeding well.

The sick clown died in the night though.

The remaining clown keeps charging the chromis if they come close while the CB seems pretty shy of everything so I guess that might suggest that the chom's are the guilty parties.

I'll keep an eye on them.

Thanks again and best regards.

Sad to hear :(
Keep a close eye.

Oh and welcome to the forums, stick around a while :)
We like pictures.

I would be inclined to think its the Chromis they can be nasty seen them attacking anthias before

Well they're all still going!

I think it must have been the chrom's, they have been trying to muscle onto the remaining clowns turf all day, he keeps seeing them off. I haven't seen one take a nip at him (and he has no visible damage) but he is taking no chances and is getting his retaliation in first.

They're much too fast for him though.

I expect it'll settle down eventually.
