I will make a recomendation. Make sure the hygro and the water sprite have lots of light. In light they both grow like weeds! However make sure there planted pretty far from one another as they will grow FAST once they get comfy in the aquarium! They water sprite you need to trim now and then...

The one thing I will say and recomend is Hygro! You cant go wrong with it, it grows liek a weed, and when it gets tall enough you just cut the shoot replant it and a new plant grows again! It's the one plant I could not kill and I trully was HORID at live plants to start!

The cloudyness was due to algea free floating in the water. If you look at the water bottle you can see how green and how much algae was in the water. When in the aquarium it just looked clike cloudy water but in a bottle you were able to clearly see it was not cloudy water but algae infested...

I had hitch hikers as well....they were snails....but the hitch hiked to the wrong tank..... Plopped them in my tank that is home to 4 YOYO loaches! Basically if you have just about any type of loach snail hitch hikers = free snaks!

Aye and aside fomr the belly the female has clear blue markings in her black spot, her dorsal fin is more of a flat line while the males has the dominant 2 first spiking up! I was sure to get male female this time...I got 2 males by mistake with my bolivians...NEVER going to make that mistake again!

Thank you so much three fingers! I was scared to pull the crypt appart...I tried to pull one leaf out and the root snapped ther so intert twined. They were in a small pot when I bought them :( However if it will really help then I will pull each one appart however so far the crypt is the one...

So I just did another 15% water change...I pulled out the filter and everythign was fine nothign cloged or lodged in it....However when I poored out the water from my bucket it was clearly a turquoise color. I'm guessing I have rotting or dieing plants that are decomposing and tinting the water...

It was bagged as "aquarium sand" at Big Al's here in Canada. I didnt buy it at wal mart or anything like that so not sure why many are calling it play sand :P

I will vote for YOYO's as wel! I got 4 of them and when they dont notice I'm staring at them they give me a great laugh! I find if I stand infront of the tank and they see me they hide and are shy but once they get use to me being htere or dont notice me it's "Game on" and the crazy antics come out!

though you cant tell in that pic the sand is more of a beige (dont rember how to spell it) than a white :P I would have lived a nice redigh brown sand to go with the rocks but alas this is one battle I decided to let the wife win as she loved the lighter sand look!
