I have a HUGE problem on my hands!!!

Long story short I got a pair of apistogramma cacatuoides this weekend. I acclamated them to the new water with the drop technique for about an hour adding in little bits of the tank water to the bag they were in every 15mins for an hour. They seemed fine in teh bag and for the first 2 days seemed fine as well.

This morning I woke up to find the little male has a bunch of the tell tell ich white spots on his front fins. The female and the Otto that are in the tank with him seem fine and the shrimp....well they are always perfect!

My problem is it is the tank is planted (amazon sowrds, micro swords, vallisera giganta and spiralis, javamoss, hygro's anubias, wysteria etc) and as stated there are shrimp in it thus I'm very limited on what I can use to cure it :(

my question is if I have a quarantine tank (can get one tongiht) should I put all 3 fish in quarantine tank and treat em all? as well how long will the ich stay in my main tank? I get using the quarantine cuz inverts and plants will die but wont the ich just be back on reintroduction of the fish from the QT?

Please help never had to fight ich before and aways dreaded this day!!!!

Remove shrimp to issolation tank as whitepot meds can kill them.
Made sure you can you the full dose of whitespot med, as some fish are sensitive to the meds.
Increase aeration and turn temp up to 30.

Thanks for the info Wilder. I was scared the meds would kill my plants but I believe from what you wrote and other info I am reading that a half dose for double the time shoudl fix the issue. Im just scared it will mess with the flourite and my plants :S

You could move the plants out of the tank.
Keep them in a container like a plastic toy box.
Whitespot won't survive without a host. So the whitespot should be dead by the time you put the plants back.

Ask in the plants section as I don't keep live plants.
