Went to my LFS as I was in need of ferts for the plants....when I got there my jaw dropped to the floor! What was that in the tank....where my eyes decieving me....No tag on the aquarium yet...no price listed...but I knew....it's like a well wrapped up gift but you already know whats in it!

I finally got my hands on german blue's! I scoured the tank looking for a suitable male and female....however one of the fish shop keepers (a crazy aquarist before being an employee :) ) pointed me to the front left of the tank. There I witnessed 2 little blues chasing away all the others from "there corner" and once sattisfied no one was watching them they started to dance  Once every couple seconds they would dart out to chase away would be spectators but once happy no one was close back to dancing with eachother! Right away I knew I had found a very good probability of a future mating pair and....

THERE MINE!!

Not sure what to call him...but thinkign something with attitude or carisma as he has deffinatly asserted that no one else in the tank should be looked at more than himself :p

There German blue rams :D I got he pair for 12$ Canadian.

I'm so happy at the moment cant stop looking at them lol! They are so full of attitude...way more fun to watch than my bolivian rams to be honest!

Nice GBR's you got there.
The dancing could mean many things, mating, territory, sizing each other up etc.
They are one of the hardest fish to understand IMO.
When I got my two I couldnt stop watching them either.
They are such amazing fish!
In your top picture, left is female, right is male.
As the female GBR's have pink bellys.

Aye and aside fomr the belly the female has clear blue markings in her black spot, her dorsal fin is more of a flat line while the males has the dominant 2 first spiking up! I was sure to get male female this time...I got 2 males by mistake with my bolivians...NEVER going to make that mistake again!

ooo nice male and female :p

i think they have more going for them than bolivians aswell
