My male is doing the same to the female. He persues her around the tank with his fin clamped down. Have no idea if it is some weird courtship thing although luckily he hasn't nipped her fins. Be interested to see the answer you get to this if someone knows about fish behaviour.

I keep my curtains closed all day, then my light comes on for about 4-5 hours.

I also forgot to mention, on disturbing the sand, I often get air bubbles. My filter is set to produce lots of bubbles as my Danios like it and I had a treatment in the water previously for Velvet. Can I add Melafix if there is Protozin still in the water? if it is bacterial?

I only put the Myxazin in yesterday .. so it wouldn't have done much. The water generally smells earthy. It's when I syphoned up the black sand, the smell from my bucket ponged. Would I be ok to remove the carbon and add the Protozin tonight?
