thats the same with one of my danios but he's been like that for a while he eats just he's smaller than the others in terms of width but he doesn't seem to be dying or anything

i have it set at 31 degrees and i have a bubble wall running to compensate for the temp of the water it tends to fluctuate between 32 and 31 but its on 31 average fingers crossed that the danios will pull through coz i don't wanna infect my bigger tank before i can put other fish in it

fish aren't doing so good my danios look very stressed and my tetra seems to be getting worse as the one with the bad infection is gasping pretty heavily now not sure how many fish will make it through this ich infection but it dun look too good :(

that makes sense :) i'll probably start my saltwater next yr but it dun hurt to prepare first right :)

i would move the danios to my bigger tank but i'm afraid they are infected with ich also although i see no visible signs its always a possiblity... :( my heater only goes up by increments of 2 but i put it half way so hopefully that is 31

okay i set it to 28 at the moment tommorrow mornign will go 30 then tommorrow night go 32 and then i'll elave it for two weeks Thanx for the advice hopefully i don't loose any fishies :(

i put the temp up to 30 degrees how long do i leave it there before i change it back ?

a fish store i visited recently kept sea horses in a 10 gallon tank and after reading this forum i was so disgusted by the very cruel act :( that i won't ever go there again

Danios are awesome :) they would do pretty well in a 50l tank

i'm sorry for your loss but maybe you should have read this Avoiding and treating new tank syndrome i don't think ur tank would have been cycled at all after 10 days sorry 8 fish is too much a strain on the bioload :(

i know they are suited for 1000lph but can they still be used on a 30 gallon tank ?? with no hassles ?? because i figure i'm definatly gonna get a bigger tank later anyways

the fluval 304 filter or the JEBO 819 just curious because theres a huge price difference between the two and they are similar products

Thanx for the advice :) i think i will go with running both at the same time because unfortunately it is a bit overstocked until i can give sum fish away and the penguin 170 seems like a very good filter i'll have to look into it

oh basically coz i wanna buy a new filter becoz my old one is on its way out i just wanted to know if the cycle will get ruined ?? if so what can i do to prevent it its not a UG filter btw

i'm just wondering how do i change the filter medium and perserve the existing bacteria in the tank ? seeing as the bacteria live in the filter medium

ZEBRA danios !!! they are hardy look good in groups ideal for an 18 gallon what more can u ask i'd get 3 first to start the cycle going :P but hey u should just wait for sum1 more experienced to reply incase i am wrong :P

my friend put neon tetras and gouramis together and the next week he told me that the gouramis ate / killed the tetras i found it a bit odd but hey it happened and he has a 30g tank so u'd think the gourami would have enough room not to be aggressive towards the tetras

do you think that u can get some media from another tank ?? because it only took me about 2 1/2 weeks to cycle enough that i could add a few danios in i guess its different for everyone but some media would help a lot

nah i won't be moving them they are staying at their home this tank has been running for about 1 1/2 - 2 months and the neons look healthy, playful and they are eating and everything so no hassles in my new tank i will decide what to put in it after i cycle it any suggestions on good fish...

i have blue gravel and i had no problems with the smell at all infact they had no smell when i got them maybe it depends on brand ?
