I am interested but my tank isn't that old so should I wait until its not so clinically clean, I am worried they will starve.

I keep marines so normally pay that or more for sand, trouble is its loaded with aragonite/calcium which will harden the water, not suitable for angels.

I can't confirm guppies nip guppies for definate BUT I have seen my orange guppy go after the blues biting at their bodies. However I have other fish in my tank so it could have been them that keep causing the damage.

I vacuum so much dirt from my gravel, in my marine tank I don't need to do this. So how do you get around this?

Yeah thanks, what brand of cat fish pellets are you using scot? I'm from Chester to lol! I have tetra prima, they seem to eat it and then it just comes out of their gills :o . I also have King British Catfish pellet food and Tetra variety wafers plus Tetra tabimin.

I have hundreds of pygmy jellyfish in my sump for my marine aquarium and they are fascinating. They live in the sump and not the main tank but I've been told they are unable to sting me. All they do is pulsate to the surface.

Send it back,they are asealed unit so there's not much you can do with it. It might be a pain but it ill work out in the end. I have the T5 light system on my tank, do you not think it is a bit bright for the freshwater fish? My hatchets are almost see through lol.

I don't know if they are trying to escape, they are on the upper sucker of an airline tube. It is also near (ish) to the outflow but it's behind it. Just done a 20% water change and no change, then again it might take time.

Goldfish do fine in heated tanks but will grow quicker. Just can't do it the other way round and keep tropicals in coldwater! Goldfish are big waste producers, as they get bigger they'll produce alot more waste, so more ammonia. At present it may be ok but down the line there could be problems.

Galaxy Rasboras, they're in with angel fish so I hold no hope for them :(

Is it the amano Shrimp? If so they actually require slightly cooler waters anyway. I have kept cherrys with my betta but I think each betta is an individual as to what he will tolerate, unfortunately you got unlucky :(

How big is the tank? I'd start by carrying out a > 50% water change, but then if it's bacterial it's not going to help much. You could start by using melifix or myxazin which will broadly treat infections.

How big are the shrimp? Did you acclimatise them properly as they can really suffer from a change in water parameters. I usually drip tank water slowly into the bag for an hour or so until the parameters are even. Bettas can be aggressive and I've seen some very aggressive males but it could...

With angel fish in the tank I'd get the breeding trap. It's going to be a long time until they're not considered food and the angelswill hunt them down. Or you could just forget about the fry and let them get eaten, tasty treats :devil:

You’re missing the point in comparing 'us' as humans to a fish. We are warm blooded whereas fish are cold blooded, humans and fish have evolved differently to sense their environment. A fish in warm waters is sure as hell going to suffer in a cold environment compared to us as our sensory system...

An extremely painful and horrible way to go. Some fish may take longer than 25 seconds but 25 seconds is still to long to suffer when a bang on the head will suffice.
