Possible Reasons For Ph Shooting Up.

Well, this might be a case of the "water board" choosing that day to have a mains water pipe clean out. By vastly increasing the amount of chemicals they add into the water that day. They do this from time to time because soft water rots the pipework system. You might be unlucky that you did a...

Would The Eheim 2080 Be Too Big

I like the Thermo Filters by Ehiem. It's always nice to not have a horrible heater in the tank that spoils the deco.

    Advice On A Suitable Stand

Hard to tell from the picture how strong that frame is. But I will say this. If it's a bolt together metal stand like you buy from BQ hardware store. Made from galvanized thin steel - forget it!!! I bought the stongest heavy duty ones they did for some 30inch tanks I had for breeding discus...

If you have a thick glass tank thats 10mil or more. It should be quite easy to remove it without any need to strip your...

    Cleaning Glass Inside The Tank

you could also try adjusting your lighting also, try to reduce the amount of time your lights stay on for. That can help also. If you have plants that con tolerate low light conditions, even better because you can reduce the light output.

    Considering Discus

Well from what I can see, you seem to have the right tank mates to keep them with and good filteration in two external filters. You say you have a PH of around 7.2 - 7-4. To be honest my daughter is currently keeping discus using tap water and there doing fine a month later on. And she has a PH...

How Do I Sterilize An Old Piece Of Bogwood?

    Frozen Food

I keep Discus fish along some other smaller Tetras etc. I try to use frozen food in strict moderation. Instead feeding Discus Bits, Flake Food and Tetra Prima. I do feed some frozen bloodworm's at times for a change (which they go ballistic for). But I don't want my discus to start turning there...
