    How Do U Sex Shrimp

The best way would be by looking for what is called the saddle, a darker area behind the head where female shrimp store the eggs prior to fertilization. There is a picture of a female shrimp with a saddle on this page so you know where to look...

    Endlers With Cherry Shrimp

Endlers are probably ok, The person I got my cherrys from was breeding them in a tank with Endlers and he had plenty of shrimp to sell. Just give them lots of moss to hide in and most will survive.

    Cherry Shrimp=lots Of Poo?

I find when shrimp first go into a mature tank there tends to be a lot of Algae and other microscopic food and the shrimp go feeding crazy. Over time this settles down and they poo less. I guess you have light coloured sand for it to be so obvious I keep my shrimp on a dark substrate as it...

What Shrimps Are Ideal For Coldwater Aquariums?

There is a dwarf shimp guide with the basics on this forum -> http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=261585 Uk shrimp has the following article on feeding shrimp -> http://ukshrimp.co.uk/freshwater-articles/...rimp-the-basics

    Clam

I've never kept any, but I've heard lots of warnings... If they are healthy they tend to bury themselves in the sand so you won't see them often. This doesn't help, as they ideally require target feeding, preferably by squirting food at them when they are trying to feed at night. As you already...

    Poorly Rock Shrimp

Shrimp lying on their side is generally a sign of poisoning, often copper. Has anything been added to the tank recently? I would do a large water change, unfortunately there isn't much else you can do.

    Shrimp Babies

If they have a larval stage it normally means they will need brackish or salt water to survive as babies.

Cherry Shrimp - Will My Fish Keep Their Numbers Down?

I agree with the rams eating some, especially the babies. I would also say there is a chance the Dwarf gourami would eat the baby shrimp and possibly the adults too. If the fish don't kill them I expect the shrimp will be quite shy

    Ghost Shrimp Babies

Ghost Shrimp is a common name used for several species some that can survive in fresh water when young, others need salt water. Did the small shrimp you saw look like miniature adults or did they look different? If they were minature adults they generally dont need salt water. I say did rather...

    Armoured Shrimp Colouration/health Assistance Please

The point about fast flowing waters is incorrect, these shrimp come from fast flowing streams in the wild so would more likely be adversely affected by living in still water.

    Armoured Shrimp Colouration/health Assistance Please

i think it is something less problimatic... My GAFS goes that colour after shedding. I think its perfectly natural. It should get its colour back over the next few weeks. Edit: I should add Great African Shrimp, Camaroon Armoured shrimp and armoured shrimp are all common names of the same...

    Whats The Difference Between...

I'm no expert, I think the main difference is that a vivarium will open from the front making it easier to clean and easier to get the animal in and out. Plus they normally have a heat lamp fitted. Vivariums are generally bigger than most tanks and i think its suitability for a tortoise would...

    Thoughts?

Cherry shrimp are 50/50 with betta's, personally I wouldn't keep shrimp smaller than Amano with a betta after my old betta killed the cherry's I added. The Assassin snails will need other snails to eat, unless you have plenty of pest snails too feed them i wouldn't bother getting them.

    How To Catch Shrimp?

I tend to get one or two guppy fry swim into the bottle, the bigger fish wont fit through the hole.

    How To Catch Shrimp?

If its a small tank it is normally easy enough to corner them with one net and catch them with the other... A method i have used for catching shrimp in my big tank is to make a trap by cutting a washed coke bottle in half, wedging the top upside down inside. you then put some shrimp food...

Marbled Lobster With Lots Of Eggs

Unless you have people lined up to give them to i wouldn't bother trying to save them. They are very prolific and as they reproduce asexually you will quickly be over run with crayfish.

    Unbalanced Tiger

Once they loose their balance like that it is normally too late. It sounds like some kind of poisoning, but as they are new its hard to say what, possibly ammonia from being in the bag combined with a slightly weaker shrimp. If the others are all ok I wouldn't worry, if they are showing signs...

    Cherry Shrimp And Betta

The betta i used to have didn't bother to eat them, he just ripped them in half and left the corpses for me to find. I would only keep Amano shrimp or Red Nose Shrimp with a betta, they are big enough to survive any Betta attention and will be less shy and more active than cherrys. That said...

    Breeding Crystal Red Shrimp

The link doesn't work but the crs guide on that site is ok... I prefer the uk shrimp one though cos I wrote it  I'm a bit more optimistic on my pH range. I think stable conditions are better than daily fluctuations caused by trying to match the perfect pH. If you have water between...

    Shrimp Prices

It varys a lot worldwide, but you can get low grade for £2 or £3 and S grade from about £10 and SS from £15 from some web sites in the UK. I think the day of the $1000 CRS is long gone.

    Safe Plants?

Any plants you buy from an LFS should technically be safe. The problem comes from the water they are kept in at the LFS rather than the plants themselves. The shops keep them with chemicals in the water designed to kill snails. These chemicals are equally lethal to shrimp which is why they...

    Wood Shrimp

They tend to be quite shy when they first go into a new home, they come from an environment with very few plants so it takes them a while to adjust. They don't tend to move much when they are feeding, when they find somewhere with good water flow they tend to stay put. It could be hiding...

    Cherry Shrimp Lack Colour

You could try feeding special invert food like hikari shrimp cuisine... it might make a difference, but probably not that much. The colour of cherry is normally based on genetics rather than their food. As you say they are breeding well i assume they aren't stressed as this will also affect the...

    Cherry Shrimp Mutation?

Cherry shrimp will still have the stripe, its just brighter on some more than others. I wouldn't use this to determine if it is a Caridina babaulti or a Neocaridina heteropoda. The best way to tell these species apart is by the length of the rostrum, it is noticeably longer on the babaulti. My...

Will Any Of My Fish Kill And Eat Shrimp?

Depending on what type of gourami it is i would say the gourami and mollys would eat shrimp like cherrys. You should be ok with Amano shrimp or filter shrimp.

I'm guessing you meant to reply to the other thread but i will answer here! They will be fine with the snails.
