At some point he will probably outgrow it, in which case the larger fish will spend next year in my 500g pool. The crawdad is more or less food for the green sunfish, they are a natural prey item, so I'm hoping to get to witness how these guys manage to eat one.

I mean as in I dechlor all the water for fish I acquire, but as I own them I use less. Like I dechlored my entire 500g pool for the koi, and dechlored the 55g the first time for the fish, but I probably won't. Prime was mainly for ammonia to help while it cycles to help reduce some water changes.

I've watched this with all my fish, they where all caught on hook/line and clean water and some prime seems to do the trick pretty well! Thankfully after such a dramatic change from such bad water to good water has helped them cope well, such strong fish.

Dogs are just as large as a nile monitor.. just a different type of animal. You just have to make a terrarium large enough for it, and thats what people do. Hell most tame down when large to become as tame as a dog and can be allowed to walk around the house a bit.

Wrong, and I know a lot of nile keepers who can testify differently. Females stay smaller, around 5-6 feet, males 6-7 feet. I think you are speaking of another type of monitor, as I know a guy who raised a pair of them to 5 feet in the first year from hatchlings.
