Currently doing 25% water changes every 2 weeks at which point I add 'Leaf Zone' (for the plants) and Stress Zyme. The new water is treated with Aqua Plus before it enters the tank. I haven't added any live stock or plants for months and months as I feel anymore will overstock the tank...

I have 2 Boesemani Rainbowfish in a community tank. They generally keep themselves to themselves, but are very active and no problems with them pestering the other fish, even though they are fairly bigger than the rest of them. Would definitely recommend them for your tank :)

Just out of curiosity, why do you want to reduce the water hardness? I live in very hard water area and also wanted to reduce it, I did this by filtering the water and/or boiling it then adding it. Takes a very long time though! :S As water changes were taking so long, I asked various LFS's...

Not sure about the Danio because I don't keep them, but I wouldn't worry about the Cherry Barbs as they generally don't shoal together. I bought 5 of them thinking they did, but they often keep themselves to themselves (they shoal more often with the Rasboras, probably having an identity crisis...

If you look around (particularly the pinned posts) there are some very good explanations on the subject. For what its worth, never stock up the tank quickly without giving it a chance to cycle properly. I (and many others here) learnt this the hard way after watching 5 Glowlight tetras die...

I live in an area which has very hard water. So far it hasn't caused any problems in my tank, but I really want to reduce it to be on the safe side. Does anyone know if the water treatment kits you can get are any good, or is there a better way of doing this? Any help would be appreciated :)

I bought one black and one white balloon molly about a month ago, and they're real characters in my tank. I read recently that they suffer problems of disease much easier than other mollie though. Has anyone heard anything about this, or had problems with balloon mollies?

I mainly feed my fish on Aquarian tropical flakes and bloodworm, but recently bought the colour version of the flakes as well. Just wondering if anyone on here uses them, and if the fish show any noticeable differences? Thanks :)
