Thank you for your reply...
Yes...my thoughts exactly. I do have a few young Koi and will be crossing them with my Marbled Swords when they are mature.
OK - I completed the above suggestion 3 weeks ago and added the 25w tube + Seachem Root tabs.
At the same time I started dosing with Seachem Flourish and Excel plus Seachem Potassium and there is a noticeable improvement.
However the older leaves are still turning yellow/brown and dying off...
Hi
I wonder if anybody has attempted to fit an extra light into a plastic hood.
I have a Juwel rekord 120 liter which comes with just 1 light (30 watt) and I would like to fit another light to double this.
Any thoughts on this would be very welcome.
Thanks - David
Thanks for that Kev.
Yes the photos certainly show the difference - very nice - looks as good as most CO2 tanks.
Is there a way to do this without emptying the tank I wonder ?
My tank has only 1 light (30w) so I'm rather limited with that.

Hi - As far as I can tell it'd Polysperma.
Substrate is just fine gravel.
As for "what type of growth - upwards or outwards" - it does grow upwards quite well but doesn't thicken out - the main thing is it seems to be "struggling".
BTW lighting is just the standard Juwel Rekord 120L single...
Hi
Can anyone suggest how I can improve the health/growth of my Hygrophila without adding CO2 or additional lighting ?
I'm currently only using Seachem Flourish and Excel.
Thanks - David
Thanks for the replies / ideas everybody.
I got some filter floss and have put it in the filter today - see how it goes.
Also thinking of adding Trumpet Snails and Amano Shrimps.
Hello Everybody
I wonder if anybody can suggest how I might get that "extra sparkle" in my water - it's not cloudy just not "sharp".
I have a Juwel Rekord 120L with standard filter and light (30w Daylite) which was set up 7 months ago.
Standard fine gravel - 50% planted with mainly Hygrophila...
I'll be interested to see what fry you get.
I recently crossed an albino koi female (identical to yours) with a marigold male.
I now have about 40 fry but I can't tell how they will turn out as yet - currently a browny red colour but with no koi markings.
Good luck.

Very interesting...
I've seen Mickey Mouse Swords for sale on aquabid a few times - but they do seem to be pretty rare...
Going by the photo of your male and the fact that some of the fry have the proper M.M. pattern it looks like some of the fry may develop into very special fish...
Good...
Thanks for that - I'm hoping to find some in YORKSHIRE so that I can collect if at all possible.
Something similar to the Marigold Painted, Painted Sunset, Sunset with black sword, Marble, Twin Bar or Velvet Swordtail on this page:-

Hi - Thanks for replying.
I'm looking for cultivated. Just something more interesting/striking than what's available in the LFS.
Have you any members who may have some in the Yorkshire area ? email: [email protected]
Regards - David
Swordtails - less common varieties in the U.K. - Yorkshire
Hello - Can anyone tell me how to find some "special" Swordtails ?
The LFSs only have the common ones and usually not very healthy looking.
Ideally I'd like to select my own but maybe the only way to get something different is mail...
