Lyre Swordtail Births

11:03pm, i placed her in the trap cos her birthing tube had opened (white spot near anal area) and she had isolated herself in a bunch of plants.

Placed in trap...

Overhead view she was wide

side view, she wasnt huge but i knew it was time. (look at the anal area - white dot=brith tube opened)

The new fry - 33 in total counted (2:59am)

How she looked after the births.

Very slim from front view

Clearly see the diffrence in the belly (not dropped as much anymore.)

How on earth do you get such clear pictures? What camera do you use? I only seem to get 1 good picture in 10 shots lol
Most are blurry or the fish decides to swim away grrrrr

Yes, the dad is a lyretail identicle to the mother

Im hoping they are lol (yes they will be exactly the same as the mother and father which are identicle.

yes when they are first born they mainly lie at the bottom for a bit, unless disturbed then they dart to the surface or around the bottom! (well mine do anyway)
normally by the morning my fry are up and about (if they were born the night before)
